We need to talk about my 401(now worth 101), the price of oil and my other stock I may have. When can we talk?

It's a trap!

Kenny NEVER reveals his future whereabouts. If he told you to meet him someplace, toss out anything that can be used to identify you, including credit cards and cellphones, and just start running.

I'd just wait for him at the baggage claim in Phoenix. That's where he takes care of business.

He loves balance. He says we should be 10 games BETTER.

Made Joe/Scotty go on DL so they would be good in the postseason-AUG-SEP.

I agree. NO TEAL!!! If I were a DET fan, I would still want him. I just wish we had NYY money.

I had to take a phone call but here are the bits I heard, in substance:

-- We had to "exhaust ourselves" in the off season to get what we have now, so it's hard to see how we're going to be able to do a lot in July.

-- We knew that Linebrink was muscular not structural, ordered the MRI anyway just to be belt & suspenders and to allay anyone's fears.

-- We're still about ten games under where we should be, based on talent.

-- He gives Paulie a lot of credit for playing with the oblique but now there's no question Paulie needs to step up. He's a fastball hitter and only gets into these problems when he's in between.

-- His only problem with Ozzie's rant in TB (this question:rolleyes:) was that we all have to sink or swim together, don't say stuff outside that you haven't said to each other.

-- Is it harder to be a GM now? Well, the game is healthier financially and so are the teams, so salary dumps are tougher to find. There are just fewer sellers and you have to give up real players, which gives one pause.

-- Crede didn't really HAVE to go on the DL, they just wanted to make sure he'd be strong for the late season run, same as with Contreras -- why screw around with cortisone shots, day to day etc., just get them rested.

I was very encouraged by the last thing Kenny said. He said Crede and Linebrink did not have to go on the dl, but it was a testament to the depth the Sox have. KW told both of them, he wanted them to be a 100% in August and September and was dling them now to make sure that happens.

Just to clarify, KW said there used to be more sellers at the deadline, but now with parody and how strong the game is there are less. More teams feel they are still in the race.

Same here. I had suspected that (particularly in Crede's case) or maybe just hoped it was the case. Nice to hear it confirmed.

I still don't believe a word Williams says to the media - either way.

He also stated he didn't want to mortgage the future unless he got a definite "impact player" and what few are available will come at a great cost

If Linebrink is out for along period of time.. We need to add a guy to the bullpen..

The domino affect of Jenks injury and DL stint is showing up big time here.

The bullpen has not been the same since that bump on the road. Injuries and guys pitching out or slot.

I hope we can rebound.

He doesn't need to do that anymore since the Sox set his kid up for life......He can always borrow from Jr.......

While I don't agree with the draft pick of KW Jr, how does a $150k bonus set someone up for life?

Perhaps it was a joke, since Kenny drafted his kid early and gave him money to suck it up in the minors.
