I like them, from what I see. There is no view of anything worth while off to the south, anyways.
I like the way the club boxes extension will be made directly below the club level seating. I have always thought they made the upper deck too far, vertically, above the lower deck seating.
The glass Entrance/exit, right by the 35th street El is also very key. It's a bit of a hike from the El to the nearest entrance, and what is the point of having to walk all the way around the park just to get to your left field seats??? It's a nice place to display Sox historical info and memorabilia as well. Great idea. The stairways and seating level entrance behing homeplate is also a nice touch. I always feel like they are trying to cram you into the ramps and escallators when you go through the current gates, very dark and unfriendly feeling. It doesn't appear as though any changes would be made to the way the gates are done on the first base side, and that suits the automobile driving public nicely, for the most part.
I have no problem with adding the right field HR porch. I like what they did with the bullpen sports bar area, and think that would only be enhanced by the porch. If they chopped off 10 rows of the upper deck and made the awning more horizontal, that seating area would have a very nice view of the Chicago skyline. Also, it would be of concern if the upper deck area there cut off view of the scoreboard to people sitting along the RF portion of the stadium, and I don't see how it could be built without doing so, at least partially.
Well, those are just my impressions, and along with perhaps a green-solid wall and a change to green seats, I think it would COMPLETELY change the atmosphere and feel of the park for the better. I have never had much issue with the new park from the start, and thought it offered all the appropriate amenities, but this just seems like it can't go wrong....
