Loving the Brew Crew this year. They're not in our league and we never play against em' (much to my chagrin) so I'm gonna root for em'.

Right now they're LEGITIMATE contenders to knock the Flubs out of first place. Loving that.

There were a bunch of Cubs fans at my house last night (the kids and their friends) collectively crapped their pants when Braun hit the dinger.

With the way their pen has been, they are VERY nervous right now.

You just have to lay off Marmol's slider. He can't get it over.

Of course dumbass Wes Helms swings at ball four to end it. He couldn't throw that big sweeper for a strike the entire inning...Helms thinks he can get it.

Marmol's slider is sick when he is throwing it for strikes. Lately he has not been throwing it for strikes so hes not as dangerous as he was. The other night in Arizona all he threw was sliders to end the game. It was the only pitch he could get over the plate.

Yes it does! I was up there this year when a lil' ol band called Rush played Summerfest. Great time!

Nice to see the Brewers move into a dead tie with the Flubs. Plus the White Sox now have a better record than the Flubs percentage wise. My oh my what will the Chicago media have to say. I love it!!!! :D:

I remember hating the Brewers too. The Brewers, though, were in the National League when I lived in suburban Milwaukee and had a season ticket plan for the Brewers (giving some of the weekend tickets away to drive down to Chicago and see the Sox). The Brewers became the underdog battling against an evil empire. It was easy to adopt a National League team to root for after the Padres deserted me. Had I not left Arizona after the 1999 season, I might have become a Diamondbacks fan after the Padres desered me by moving out of Yuma.

Honestly, I'm hoping that the Cardinals take over 1st place when I go to the Cards/Dodgers game on the 5th of next month, maintain a divisional lead the rest of the way, and then the Brewers can win the Wild Card, closing out any chance of the Cubs sniffing a playoff spot.

NO playoffs for them is better than experiencing failure in the playoffs, IMHO. Let them sit at home the entire month of October and watch while we continue to celebrate.

I was there last night....I'm way up near the IL/WI border....Miller Park is actually 1 mile closer than the Cell to my house. Annual tailgate with a group of Sox fans (vestiges for when the Brewers were in the AL)....great atmosphere...probably the first time the Brewers have been this strong, this late in the season in years. The crowd stands and starts to go nuts when Braun is batting...1st pitch after they come to their feet...Braun hammers for the tying HR. He really rises to the occasion (like TCQ). Durham was a big contributor on offense...still touch and go on defense.

They have some real momentum....and the CC/Durham acquisitions have really helped recharge their tank. The Cubbie fans who were already blocking their calendars for the World Series will be in for a rude awakening at Miller Park this week.

I'm not sure, i didn't ask him. I didn't talk long, maybe 2 mins or so. He actually had an autograph booth setup at the game for a little bit that was apparently 100 people deep at one point.

Yost is toast if Milwaukee does not come back and win the division, which they will not do.

They still have an excellent shot at the Wild Card. The Brewers and Cubs are easily the best two teams in the NL. If the Diamondbacks ever get their heads out of their asses, I'd put them up there, too. Otherwise, I think you've got a few more mediocre teams, and crap.

That all struck me as a little too easy for the Cubs this week. I still think the Brew Crew makes it very interesting before it's all over. But they'd be a real threat if they fired that idiot Yost and hired a real manager. I don't see them overcoming his ineptitude.

I didn't pay really any attention to the series (as the Sox-Twins were playing at the same time).

But what did Yost do that has so many people up in arms?

I think Manny will be the difference for the Dodgers now. Once they get Penny and Schmidt in the rotation, they'll start rolling.

I didn't watch the whole series either. But when I did watch, they seemed tight, which is exactly what they were last year down the stretch. And I trace that back to him.

Also -- and this isn't on Yost but Doug Melvin -- they are absolutely kidding themselves with that bullpen. They needed to land Fuentes or Sherrill, and they didn't.
