It's unbeliveable that he threw for the first half of the year without a hitch. Who knows where they'd be if he wasn't around?

I agree - and to be honest, if he spends 2 weeks on the DL and they can play 500 ball, they're better off because he's better rested.
IMO, he's worked out well for them as a closer. Alot better than their past few seasons.

The Cubs have a long history about lieing about injuries to their pitchers and players. Why I don't know?
But I bet that these "blisters" will soon turn into "Shoulder soreness" which then will turn into some kind of surgery.
It will end up being a tendon in the finger.
Perhaps Wood should try the Moises Alou skin toughening program.

I had thought Marmol would be the closer coming out of the gates this year; my theory has finally come true (100 games into the season). Let's see if he holds up...

Marmol needs to prove his recent slide was a fluke though. Otherwise, the Cubs might be in trouble in close games.
