I really hope that this is making room for a trade...

I need something to cheer me up about this team.

Besides Broadway who's been struggling and Richard who's on the Olympic team, what other starter do we have? Then again, could we be adding a position player like Fields?

And of course just yesterday he was added to our guest list at the WCSF luncheon day after tomorrow! That's the second time this has happened to us in the past couple of years.

If that was the case and they were that confident the trade was done wouldn't they just announce the trade today?

Its for a starter...I think either Broadway, Egbert or possibly Haeger gets the nod

I don't think Richard being on the Olympic team would prevent him from being called up. If the big club needs him, the Olympic team can take someone else.

Broadway is pitching for Charlotte right now, so it won't be him.

Well, to make a wild guess at who should be called up, why not Jon Link if it is going to be a reliever? He's been terrific at AA. He has not been at Charlotte yet, but Jenks came straight from Birmingham. He's the most consistent and effective pitcher of anyone in the minors for the Sox.

With Contreras on the DL, it will likely be a starter.

Though I do think Link should have gotten the call before Russell.

Rongey said Masset was starting on Tuesday so I doubt it's for a starter.

That surprises me. When was the last time Masset has even thrown 3 innings?

He sure is a better option than Masset, particuarly since Masset has not been stretched out and could not realistically give you more than five innings.

I thought Russell did a good job here, but we need another starter and Carrasco's done very well in a long relief role. Hopefully when there's a deal to sort out our starter situation, or everyone's healthy, Adam will be called up again.

Hopefully after we give a look to Link, and possibly Wassermann again.
