You know it. You've seen it. Your thoughts.

Mine is we're never going to see anything like that again.

I don't get why people are making a big deal out of it. Quentin really seemed into the whole allstar game atmosphere, almost like it was a dream come true. They interviewed him after the derby for his thoughts on Hamilton's 1st round and you could tell he was tearing up. I for one am so happy we have Carlos on our team, cause he just seems to play the game right, and doesn't care about his personal stats, he's in there for the team and he's a very humble guy. For him that game meant something, as it decides homefield advantage in the series. Hugging Morneau was simply his excitement for the win. It's not like Carlos is going to go soft when he plays the Twinks or anything, every game is very important as you can tell when he's on the field.

Maybe he hugged him because he wanted to thank him for scoring the run that guarantees the White Sox the home advantage when they go to the World Series in October :D:

My Twins fan friend called me immediately after the game to boast that his team's player had not only won the home run derby but also scored the winning run in the All-Star game.

I told him to enjoy Morneau's post ASG power slump, and in addition thanked him for assuring that the Sox would have home field advantage in the World Series.

He promptly hung up on me.

Thanks. I would've posted that if I'd found it first.

We need to find a smaller version and make this a smilie.

Great minds think alike. As I said to a Sox fan friend who was pissed that he won the HR derby, he can win every award there is as long as he and those lousy Twins stay the hell away from OUR World Series!!

I caught it live last night, and The Hug was just fine by me. My fascination with extra-inning games continues to grow deeper. That one yesterday is right up there among the weirdest I've seen, with all those plays at the plate teasing us into thinking it was about to end at a sane hour.

Hard to find anything to dislike about TCQ, but I'm sure someone here will.

He (audibly on television) screams the "F" word every time he pops out.

I guess some people might not like that, though I find it highly amusing.

Justin Morneau is a giant jerk-face who looks like an SS officer from an old WW2 movie.

Carlos Quentin is a superhero. Must I explain further???

Wow. No further explanation required. I did not realize Morneau had those qualities since I, for one, have never met the guy.

It was mentioned in another thread (http://www.whitesoxinteractive.com/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=1965898&postcount=19) that TCQ and Crede spend a lot of time with him on the bench talking during the game.

Traitors!

There's a lot of good captions one could make for that pic.

I'm surprised no-one has made one about them saving a bunch of money by switching to Geico.

TCQ and Alexei are two great additions to the team in every way. They are both very humble guys who are team players.
Both have wonderful only-in-America stories and give the team a necessary fresh look this year along with Swish and OC.

It's just oh so fitting to see a picture with a player from the Sox celebrating while Brad Lidge looks on in disappointment.

There was a great piece in the Sun-Times the other day about Quentin's media day interview at the ASG. A reporter asked him a question at length in Spanish, to which Quentin replied that he didn't speak Spanish, is from California, and has never spoken Spanish.

Quentin does have a Spanish feel to it. Fooled me until I found out dad Q wasn't Hispanic. I'd like to note the cat-like start Morneau got off 3B on that game-ending play. Looked like a beached whale until his legs started working.

Sounds like my Red Sox fan boyfriend who immediately IM'd me after JD Drew hit a homer that tied the game at 2. Immediately when that happened, I said to myself, "Oh, dear!" but couldn't be unhappy, because how could I root against the AL?

Whomever finishes with the best record in the AL gets home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Seemed to work out for a certain team three seasons ago! :D:

She's only half Mexican. She doesn't speak spanish either.

go play a backyard or pickup game of any sport and it's obvious.

If your best friend is on the other team you hate him.

If you arch nemesis is on your team and he makes a great (block shot pass etc) you will congratulate him.

but it was said better before:

Sox fans hate Morneau
Sox players probably don't hate a tenth of the people that we do.
