I don't know what people are complaining about. Except for Mr. Uggla, whose defensive woes haven't led to any runs, the defense in this game has been spectacular. Players are playing to win and people care about who wins.

This has been a good game, but it highlights how ludicrous it is to have an exhibition decide something as important as WS homefield advantage. Nice block, btw. And I have to say, there has been some Walkerball (Quentin, I'm looking at you...outside of that hotshot to Ugly).

Would the AL curfew rule had applied if the game lasted another 20 minutes?

It's not moot at all...the difference being that if the NL won, the AL would be celebrating on their home field in game 4.

What's so sad about the Sox sweeping the World Series? It certainly didn't bother us in 2005, now, did it? :D:

I would like 1 of the following to happen at home:

Clinch division
Win ALDS
Win ALCS
Win World Series

I will take any of those regardless of where they happen. If there is one thing I've learned from being a Sox fan its that you can't be greedy.

In 2005, all of the above that doublem mentioned, happened on the road. It really doesn't matter where it happens as long as it happens. Though it does help to win game 1 of the world series at home.

I'll take clinching the division at home the last series of the season as to give this team that urgency to play hard until the end (something that I think helped them in 2005), then they can sweep their way through the playoffs.

Since 1988, the AL is an amazing 17-3-1 in All Star games. :o:

In that 21 year period, the only NL wins were the 3 in a row they won in '94-'96.

This is a complete reversal of the period from 1963-1982 where the NL was an incredible 19-1. The only AL win during that period was in Detroit in '71. That long AL drought ended in 1983 at Comiskey Park when the AL won 13-3. I still remember the Trib sports headline after the '83 game: "AL Has a Blast At Last"

I was expecting TCQ to walk-off Marmol. Whatever, at that point in the game yesterday, you'll take a win any way you can. Michael Young got snubbed of an MVP. He basically drove in the winning run twice.

How 'bout Brad Lidge? 3 years after his horrible postseason, he's still giving up winning runs. :-).

No kidding. He's lost an NLCS game, a World Series game and an All-Star game. How many closers can say that?

Lynn's was the 1st Grand Slam ever in an All Star Game. Has there been any other ASG grand slams since? Or is this still the only all star slam?
