As this (http://en.allexperts.com/q/Baseball-Trivia-General-2552/Disabled-List.htm) notes, there is no "record" for times placed on the disabled list or time spent on the disabled list. It also suggests that Reggie Sanders made 17 trips to the disabled list in his career. I can't confirm that. The Baseball Register published by The Sporting News used to list players' visits to the disabled list. I haven't seen the Baseball Register in years, and none of the Internet sources I use list disabled list visits.

Ron Bloomberg, the first pick overall in the 1967 baseball draft (amazing how the Yankees, whose persistent winning inspired baseball's amatuer draft, ended up with the first pick in baseball's third amatuer draft), baseball's first designated hitter and the White Sox first big money free agent, who as a pinch-hitter homered in the ninth inning on opening day in 1978 to tie the game that the Sox would win a few hitters later, probably spent more time than Wood or Prior on disabled lists. I believe he spent most of his Yankee career on the disabled list. He spent one season with the White Sox and spent most of it on the disabled list.

But I'm guessing someone spent more time on the disabled list than Ron Bloomberg.

Mike Hampton has to have the record by now.

He spent half of the year in 2005 on the DL.

All of 2006.

All of 2007.

Now all of 2008.

Doesn't he have another year left on his deal too?
