Hit above ankle, nothing broken, just a bad bruise.

He has until Friday to rest it too as I would think we start Hall tomorrow.

Yea, there's no way we're throwing AJ out there tomorrow. He's got about five days to rest that thing, and as I have been hit by a pitch in that area (not thrown anywhere near as hard of course!!!) you're good to go in about two days. At least I was. So, AJ should be OK and hopefully will come back rearin' to go!

Thanks for the news - I was worried about this, especially how AJ went down after being hit in the game tonight. I wanted to hear that AJ was going to be okay.

It seemed like Hawk actually went down to the clubhouse during the broadcast to check on his condition.

Not the first time he's done that. He did it when Buehrle got smoked with that line drive against Cleveland last year.

he's my brother's friend, and he's the one who is giving me VIP seats on July 19th (if my brother ever receives them) so he better be playing by then :(

I know it seems like the majority of people can't stand Hawk anymore, but how many other announcers are going to do that during a game?

Of course, Buehrle and AJ are this two favorites.

I actually think he went to the clubhouse when GrindErstad got hurt in Toronto last year too.

Of course, Ersty was another of his favorites.

Personally I think he partly uses these well-being checks as an excuse to get away from DJ for an inning.

Since AJ won't be starting tommorrow, who is our backup if something should happen to Toby? Would we throw AJ out there? Paulie used to be a catcher, would we throw him out there??

Good news, indeed. When it happened, it looked to me like the ball hit him right on the ankle. I can understand wanting to get on base, but he should have moved out of the way. Oh well, that's AJ and I wouldn't want him any other way. At least he'll have a few days to heal. I'm not sure who our third catcher would be--maybe Swisher?

Probably Paulie who was a catcher in the minor leagues..lets pray it does not come to that...like when JD was playing shortstop in Oakland a couple years ago....not good.

I thought Herm was going to have to take Erstad out back and put him down after that injury. Then he was back in like 2 weeks.

He came back against the Cubs and got injured again in the first inning, IIRC.

There are many "sox fans" who were hoping for that...
