987. That is the amount of runs the 2002 White Sox are on pace to score this year says the Chicago Sun-Times. This stat was estimated before yesterday's 11 run outburst. I think we're going to break 1000 runs. The record is 1067 I believe by the '31 Yankees? The weather is going to heat up soon and I think we're just scratching the surface on how much offensive output this team can produce. Thomas and Carlos haven't even gotten locked in yet and Kenny appears to be a man on a mission this year. Now if we can only get another starter...

We were on pace to break 1000 for quite a while during the 2000 season too, but fell short. Didn't the Sox and Cards both break the MLB record for runs in one month in 2000 as well?

I don't think they'll hit 1000 runs, but they'll come close. Just a hunch. I think K-Lo and PK are going to cool off, while Frank and Jose and hopefully Carlos will heat up. I'll go on record and say 945 runs for the Sox this year.

Does anyone remember how many runs we scored in 2000?

Right now, the Sox are averaging 6.2 runs per game. That works out to over 1000 runs. I think they'll do it if Frank heats up.
