Who are the announcers doing tonights Red Sox vs.Twins game?

Dan the Man

Dan Shulman play-by-play, along with Orel Hersheiser and the all-knowing Steve Phillips.

I thought it was Steve Phillips. He just defended the Varitek all-star selection by saying how good he is handling a pitching staff. Ignoring the fact that A.J. is having a superior offensive season while catching a pitching staff with the best ERA in baseball.

I just told my dad the exact same thing. What ignorance.

Take it up with the players then.

Don't they usually release the final player votes?

The reason AJ wasn't chosen by the players is the fact that the rest of the league despises him for reasons yet unknown.

It's not an unknown reason. AJ is an *******. But he's our *******.

Where is Fenway? Why isn't he online? I want to know why in the Hell the much vaunted God's-Gift-to-Civilization Boston Red Sox are not up 45-0 in this game yet!:angry::angry:

No kidding. Scot Baker? He looks like a really tall 10-year old.

It is the players fault, but I still don't like Phillips defending the players selection.

If the Twins win this game, the story will be that the Yankees and Red Sox would not be in the playoffs if the season ended today.

Not only are the Twins playing like they are a real team, but the Royals, yes the ROYALS, beat Tampa in Tampa with a three run blast in the 10th.

Yes, the ROYALS BEAT TAMPA IN TAMPA.

Is this bizarro world?

I don't know what sucked more - the fact that ball was caught, or the fact I yelled "stretch" when it was going towards the fence.

Wow the Red Sox are sucking at the dish. I'll never complain about the White Sox stranding runners again.

They had the corners with no outs and couldn't get a run in.

Had the bases loaded 1 out and didn't do anything in the 4th, I think, too.

The reason AJ wasn't chosen by the players is the fact that the rest of the league despises him for reasons yet unknown.

AJ isn't out there to make friends. He's out there to win ballgames. He's perfect for the Sox.

That Steve Phillips "intangibles" conversation was crap....the fact that he deserves being an All Star for nursing Dice K along (who was a big time PRO pitcher before coming to the US). What does that say about Dice K?

I would think handling Gaving Floyd, Jose Contreras (who isn't exactly "nails" mentally out there), and a 23 year old John Danks is a little more difficult than a guy you paid $120 million for. If anything I would say Dice K has been a disappointment.

On XM today, Dibble and Kennedy discussed this and Kennedy chose to rationalize it like Phillips did, but Dibble said the truth - that AJ is not well-liked by a lot of players, and even with the players voting it's still a popularity contest.

Suck it up for the next four days! :D:
We actually only have to root for the Red Sox two more days. The Twins have a four-game series in Detroit starting Thursday. So, we can hope Cleveland can take at least a game in this two-game set in Detroit, and then Detroit can take no less than three of four from Minnesota.

Oh, and, of course, our Sox sweeping this road trip!

I'm happier that the Twins lost more than the fact I was rooting for the Blow Sox. There were times last night I was worried that by rooting for Ramirez I was going to spontaneously combust.
