Listening to WGN Radio due to my roommate's Cubbie blue blood... prior to Bernie Mac singing the 7th Inning Stretch.

:santo
So Bernie, you're from Chicago?

Yes. South Side, I love it.

:santo
So that begs the question ... Cubs or Sox?

Sox! White Sox! The Sox are great, I'm a Comiskey boy!

:santo

Santo wanted to beat him with his stump after that one. I don't remember ever seeing Bernie at a Sox game though.

So he wanted to beat Bernie's head "til the white meat shows"?

Bernie said he's a die hard Sox fan because he grew up on the South side and they couldn't affort the trip to the north side. At the end of the interview, Otto and Hughes said he's a really nice guy for a fan of the SouthSiders.

You mean you could actually understand what Otto said?

I still laugh when I think about PHG's comment about Otto being a sh*t salesman with a mouth full of samples...

I'm watching the game on WGN and after Morris struck out a Cubs batter, Bernie said in a jovial voice, "You're outta there baby." He was also complementating Morris. So it makes sense that he's a Sox fan.

Bernie was talking about batters who charge the mound and miss with punches. And Carter said how some guy didn't miss on Jack McDowell and Chip also piped up with Nolan Ryan and his headlock on Robin Ventura.

Carter and Chip are terrible. They blatently say how the umps make the wrong call when the replay obviously shows they made the correct call. Either they are blind or let their bias blur their perception. Either way they are the worst announcers I have ever heard.

Apologies to Daver, then. I knew I probably had that attribution wrong to begin with.

Am I missing something here? I could've sworn I read that Bernie
Mac is a huge Cub fan. TV Guide, I think. Are you sure he's a Sox
fan?? I really don't think so. I can swear I read Cubs. Am I
cracking up????

Good. Not good that I'm cracking up, good that a guy who's
blown up the way Mac has is a Sox fan. As I said, I think I
read it in TV Guide, written by an outsider. I'm sure the writer
just automatically assumed that Mac was a Cub fan.
