I'm taking a date to the game Wednesday night. As you might guess by the thread title, she's vegetarian. Any of you guys know of some good meals that she might enjoy?

Thanks!

Elotes!

Don't know the exact location of the stands, though.

They have Gardenburger type of burgers, curly fries, nachos and churros (healthy!), pretzels, and deserts.

I've taken vegetarians to the park, they never left hungry.

The cheese quesadillas are quite tasty as well, available along the outfield concourse.

If she's not a vegan there is always cheese pizza, I would suggest the Big Hurt Pizza on the outfield concourse (you actually get a little pizza, not a slice). My wife's get is every time (she is a veg-head too).

For me they wouldn't. I don't think churros are vegan. :(:

Woodcock, it is a species of Pheasant, and better than the best chicken you have ever eaten.

I'm sure there is nothing that resembles a meat product in the non-Kosher dogs.

I think you mean chips w/salsa. Nachos have cheese.

I'm vegan as well. There isn't crap but snack food to eat. I'm finding myself going to less games because of it. I can't go unless I'm willing to eat with reckless abandon for my health. :(:

Veg*n Sox fans checking in. I heard the Cell was 9th on a list of best vegetarian ballparks in the mlb. Not too bad.

Do you know which stands have the gardenburgers? We'll be at the 500 level tonight.

Beer has no meat in it. Stick with that.

In all seriousness, veggie stuff is never hard to find anywhere nowadays.

SOUTH SIDE HITMEN GRILLE Sections 139 & 542
Grilled favorites like steak and chicken sandwiches, garden burgers, Hamburger Value Meals, snacks and beverages. Go Go Sox Grille also features veggie dogs.

LOLLAR'S GUARD THE PLATE GRILL Section 524
Fan favorites including bratwurst, garden burgers, Hamburger Value Meals, nachos and beverages

In my experence, the garden burgers are pretty easy to find. Veggie dogs are a bit harder.

In case anyone is wondering, "gardenburgers" are not vegan. The company makes vegan products, but the basic gardenburgers sold at the Cell are not vegan (containing both milk and eggs). There are no vegan entrees at the Cell.

Going to a few ball games a year and eating the snacks is going to hurt your health? :?:

You can always eat before or after the game.

Buy her a bag of peanuts.

Don't know why, but that struck me as very funny.

Probably because I'm not a vegetarian.

You should just eat a dictionary. It might taste just as good.

But seriously, those are some of the nastiest things man has ever created.

I'm a vegan. I eat mostly raw fruits, vegetables, and nuts. That means I eat like 30 times a day. I can't sit longer than two hours without eating. If that means eating cooked food at the ballpark, fine. But it's not right that the only options are fries, coke, chips, and popcorn.

I think it would be nice for you and other vegans if the Sox had some more vegan options. Unfortunately, the Venn Diagram that illustrates Sox fandom as one circle, and vegans as a second circle, probably does not show those two circles having much overlapping area. Maybe you could e-mail Brooks and ask him to put in a carrot stick stand or a broccoli bar.

Making a lot of the Veggie food Vegan food wouldn't be that difficult. It wouldn't need its own stand.

Eating a food that cooks with meat and/or meat juices is not vegetarian. There is a huge difference between "not eating meat" and being a vegetarian. If you're the type to pull the sausage off a pizza, you are not a vegetarian.

The "hot peanuts" and elotes were fantastic last night. And winning on a walk-off...I think she was pretty impressed.
