I laughed - and cried - when reading that. At least they've been willing to try different things.

Personally, I hope they keep the current design mostly intact for a very long time.

I actually liked the "pajama" ones, except the dark/dark combo.

I'd honestly like to see the White Sox actually wear white socks again. Would black & white stirrups work with the current uni?

And what I mean is something like this except the stirrup in black: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41AnIvs5PwL._AA280_.jpg

Interesting to see that they'll be wearing a stars and stripes hat in the logo this weekend.

I think they should go with this hat.

Those will look great with the camouflage uniforms.

Perfect article for me to read. I'm into uniforms.

BTW, the White Sox should wear one of those prototye early 80's uniforms they did not adopt for a "Throwback That Never Was" game.

That would be wild.

When I was a kid, my uncle use to say "The only thing the White Sox have ever lead the majors in....is different uniforms".

You wouldn't think it is a big deal but it is quite noticable. Just yesterday I remarked to my dad while watching some of the NYM/STL game when one of the Cardinal's young guys (SS maybe?) was wearing red stirrups. It is something small but something I wish more guys did.

They're for sale at Grandstand but they're not on the website. The jerseys are actually mesh.

I actually liked the "pajama" ones, except the dark/dark combo.

Once they went to the white pants they didn't look half bad. I actually like them more than the "beach blanket" uniforms, which I always thought looked like cereal boxes.

The Uniwatch Blog (http://www.uniwatchblog.com/), which is maintained by the same guy who wrote the column on espn.com is a pretty cool site. Check it out.

Oh so many links.

Anyone see that Hawk used to have "Hawk (http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2115/2232459585_a9132bebfd_o.jpg)" on his jersey?

Its tough to rag on the Sox for not wearing white socks when you consider that the uniforms they have right now are the best, save for possibly the '59 ones, they've ever had.

White socks would look like crap with the current uniforms, and nobody wears stirrups anymore anyways. Plus, with the Red Sox it's easier for them to wear their color socks with their uniforms because it clashes with the white/gray uniforms.

Could you imagine the Sox wearing white socks on the road? :o:

If you guys liked that article the guy that writes it, Paul Lukas, has a great website that i read everday. uniwatchblog.com is the website. Some stuff i don't get into that much but i have become more knowledgeable (sp?) on uniforms in sports.

I hope people saying those navy hats will look good with the camoflage unis will be good are joking!

In following up on the article about White Sox uniforms, Paul Lukas referenced the private collection of Mike Steiner. There's some great stuff (http://www.freewebs.com/karamaxjoe/whitesoxjerseys.htm)here. Note the game-worn Goose Gossage shorts (http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3119/2659279669_4e1640b396_o.jpg) from 1976.

Just like the MasterCard commercials - PRICELESS!

How he got game worn uniforms from guys like Wayne Causey and Duane Josephson are mind boggling.

I think you can get a Dick Allen jersey at Grand Stand. The Dick Allen "jersey" on their website is just a t-shirt.

They do, however, show a '72 Bill Melton home jersey:

http://www.grandstandsox.com/store/view_product.php?product=AUTUXSR54

They've got a Melton road, too.

They have an actual Dick Allen jersey (both home and away, I believe) at Grandstand.
