I just got this from a friend:

If you missed the announcement at noon today on XRT, the Rolling Stones
have announced details of their first tour in three years! Their latest
stop in Chicago brings them to 3 seperate Chicago venues:

Tuesday, September 10th @ United Center
Friday, September 13th @ Comiskey Park
Monday, September 16th @ Aragon

I was against the Chicago Fire tearing up our baseball field, and I'm against the Stones doing the same!

Comiskey for the Sox!!!

I'm finding nothing on the web anywhere about this, so it may be the friend who emailed me that is, in fact, insane.

But if he's not--who gets the revenue from something like this? Jerry or the entity that actually owns Comiskey? Anyone know?

This is from some Canadian website:

The Chicago run (Sept. 10, 13 and 16) sees the Stones playing the United Centre, Comiskey Park, and the intimate Aragon Ballroom .

So I guess this is real.

Can we have a stud pitcher please?

I think the Rolling Stones are the most overrated rock band ever. They belong on the North Side..........

I don't think they can get their walkers and wheelchairs into Wrigley.

I saw Devo at the Brawl room back in '79. I concur.

My Aragon experiences...(some of them, anyway):

The Clash - 1982
R.E.M. - 1984
The Pretenders - 1984
Billy Idol - 1984
The Clash - 1984
Beastie Boys - 1987
Iggy Pop/Ramones - 1989
Sonic Youth/Public Enemy - 1990/91
Nirvana - 1994
Weezer - 1995

Fond memories, mostly, but man what godawful acoustics in that place.

It's true. I heard it on the Loop today. I'm not crazy about the idea. I can see if it was the off-season maybe. I find it hard to believe that this is going to happen considering how picky the crew at Comiskey is about messing up the field.

I'm suprised this thread has survived so long in the clubhouse.

Wow, 1984, That's all the way back to the days of Reckoning. I would have killed to have been there, but somehow I don't think I would have comprehended Stipe's lyrics at age 3  . Did many people go to that concert?
