Small concession for losing two games in a row, but I can't really argue for us to be any higher. Check out the comment on the Twins.

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/poweralley We are doomed. The Moron and ESPN the Tabloid both getting on the bandwagon. This is the kiss of death. :whiner:

I was thinking that last night's loss had a little something to do with the curse of

:moron

This is getting frightening.

We won the Central in 2000 after the Moron jumped our bandwagon, so I'm not too worried. I think his curse only applies on the north side of town.

Did you also see what they wrote about the Dimondbacks? It's to funny. Truth be told its good to see Foog doing well, and I am happy w/ Ritchie(but Lowe whould not have loss that game last nite). Anywho, you make a great point FWC(moron and ESPN?-what's next the cover of the Tribune)?

Yeah, ESPN's Power Rankings (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/poweralley) are as meaningless as anything, but it is nice to see the Sox get some recognition...

I also like the Twin's blurb (See #9)... Go Sox!

Now, back to my paper!

I thought the number 3 ranking was fair, and the Twins one was nice. But I turned sick when I read ranking 12, and turned joyous again with ranking 23.

Now, back to my paper! It's obvious you've been working on that paper when you are re-posting old news.

"The Twins, overrated? You guys are nuts! We'll see who's overrated come playoff time when the AL Central champion Twins are playing for the American League pennant at the very least. The have a 21-12 record without their starting second baseman, designated hitter, injured shortstop and one starting pitcher. Wait until this team is healthy, and watch out American League. The Twins are for real.

Mark O'Byrne
Rochester, Minn."

"How on earth could you place the Twins, who are in first place in the AL Central, ninth on your list. Overrated? The true measure of great teams are teams that win close games, which the Twins have done. Maybe its your Power Alley rankings that are overrated. I hope you eat your words when the Twins take two of three from the Yankees this weekend.

Hank Long
Minneapolis"

And then in bold,

Wow, no bad comment about the Red Sox this week. I'm impressed. Good job!
Shaun Barnes, Chicopee, Mass."

Chicopee is around here, I am shocked that anyone there knows how to use a computer.

Although it's nice to be high atop the power rankings, I think it might take a world series appearance for ESPN to respect the sox enough to stop calling our manager CHARLIE manuel.
case in point: (sox ESPN homepage)
Royce Clayton is perfect through 31 games. No errors in 155 total chances at shortstop. "He's catching everything out there," manager Charlie Manuel told the Chicago Sun-Times.
sheesh.

I am curious to find out why anyone would care if espn respects our team or not.
