So says the New York Post (http://www.nypost.com/seven/06232008/news/regionalnews/new_manager_rips_dung_ho_met_fans_116794.htm), describing his "fast-developing reputation for making outrageous comments."

Of all the things that Jerry was called in Chicago, I don't remember "outrageous" being one of them. Maybe he learned a few things watching his successor.

You show 'em, Jerry.

He's been far more vocal with the Mets, even as the bench coach. The Mets are another corpseball team, though, so they need someone to inject a rise in them.

If by "outrageous" they mean "incredibly dim-witted," then yeah, I believe that Manual is making outrageous statements.

Jerry Manuel to being outrageous is like George Carlin to being religious.

Wow, I didn't know JM had a voice! He was the twin brother of Harold Baines from what I remember of his days here.

Speaking of the Mets, Felix Hernandez just hit a grand slam off Johan Santana (although all the runs were unearned).

This isn't surprising. Manuel has said plenty of stupid things in his time.

:jerry

"I do like to tinker. It usually doesn't work, though."

:jerry

"I still have a few things I haven't tried. You know I like to tinker. I'm not going to unveil anything, but when you see what I've done, you'll be like, 'Dang, what's he doing now? He needs to be fired.'"

:jerry

"I can't imagine any reason short of an emergency for playing Frank at first base."

:jerry

"Frankly, I think it's (pitching at Yankee Stadium) a bigger deal for Buehrle than it is for us."

:jerry

"Anyone who disagrees with me just doesn't understand baseball."

Keith Olbermann named the staff of the NY Post one of today's "Worst Persons in the World" because Manuel did not call Mets fans fertilizer as the Post claimed.

I still remember the one time that Carlos Lee,sitting on the bench between at bats,
had to wake him up to remind him to pinch run for a slow footed slugger in either 2002 or 2003.

I think the NY Post would be a great place for The Moron to work.

Is that really true? I thought the whole thing about him sleeping was more or less a joke.
