I think a woman caught it. That is why you don't hear about the guy who caught it.

I don't care about who caught it but am curious what happened to one of the most famous mementos in Sox history.

I just watched the dvd, and I can confirm the ball catcher is a male. He looked to be hispanic

It's a little weird they're posting on the internet about some random guy who caught a ball 3 years ago.

Fantastic. Can you pause the DVD and snap a picture of the fella and upload it to the site. Maybe blow it up too. Inquiring minds are dying to know more about this man.

Well, this should give it away. Next to the home plate at Champions Plaza, there's this brick:

Yeah! The World Series was three years ago, let's stop living in the past! 2008 is the year of the Cubs!

Nope, I'm not Jose, nor do I know him. Just thought that it was nifty brick compared to everyone else's Hallmark-card sentiments. And now the picture has come in handy!!

What is to stop someone from buying a brick which reads "No! I got Pod's Walk-off in Game II!"

I guess you can get whatever you want. But considering they placed it so close to the world champions home plate, I think the sox might have verified it.

From Chicago Kent College of Law newspaper:
Chris Claeys caught the game-tying grand slam ball Paul Konerko hit in the 7th inning of game two of the World Series and tucked it away in a bank. Jose Gamiz gave his game-winning ball back to Scott Podsednik...
