I was wondering. The white sox hosted texas for a doubleheader on 7-4-1976. did anybody attend that game? what did they do at the game to celebrate the bicentenial?

I was NOT there; however I was at the game the day before. I remember
it because the game started at 10:30 in the morning.

I not sure what they did on the 4th but in pre game ceremonies on opening day Bill Veeck, manager Paul Richards and I think Rudy Schaeffer came marching out in revolutionary garb with fife and drum. It was quite a sight especially with Veeck's peg leg.

Thanks for the kind remarks.

I've just sent the latest interview to George. I'm sure he'll have it up in a few weeks...it's with one of the mainstays of those terrific Sox clubs from 1963 through 1967.

And the WSI interview with Mike Veeck talks about the Bicentennial Stunt pulled off by his dad as well as Disco Demolition.
