Anyone know what the blackout rule is for the Sox/Cubs game on Saturday. It's 2:55pm Central... is that within their blackout time?

Secondly- if so- does anyone have a link to the page where Fox tells you who gets what? (I'm in New Orleans, so I probably won't get it unless I go to a bar).

EDIT: I found this:
http://msn.foxsports.com/other/story/5619630/MLB-on-FOX-TV-Listings

Now I'm really confused... they don't list the Sox/Cubs, but the Sox schedule lists them as being on Fox. How can that be? I was assuming the sheer national awesomeness of the Cubbies would somehow get me (or anyone) the game??

It's not a Fox game. It's earlier in the day (12:05 CT).

CSN for the Sox announcers; Cubs team on WGN.

I'm also puzzled by the 12 Noon start this Saturday at Wrigley if the game is not on Fox. Do the Cubs normally start their Saturday afternoon games that early? I always thought it was 1:20 starts for them and 2:20 on Fridays. BTW, whitesox.com lists the game as being on CSN.

I think that because Fox moved their time to the silly 3:55 pm ET starts this year, it screws up when other teams play. They can either play night games or early day games, but they can't start day games later than 1:00 ET, or they'll be blacked out by Fox. Hence the 12:05 CT start time tomorrow.

According to my calendar they gave away in April both Saturday games are on FOX.

Creepy.

whitesox.com and cubs.com have next Saturday's game on Fox, but tomorrow's game is on CSN for the Sox feed and WGN for the Cubs.

Tomorrow's game will be on the WGN Superstation. Not sure which broadcast it will be.

Next week's saturday game is on Fox; 60% of the country will see the game, the first time in interleague play that more stations have decided to carry Sox-Cubs over Yankees-Mets.

Because I know a Sox/Cubs game is more enticing than a Subway series

Any word on which game we're getting here in DC?

I read in the paper today that Fox polled their franchises to see which game they preferred. 60% chose the Chicago game over the New York game.

Of course the New York teams are nowhere near First Place.....

Not sure, TV Guide says Yankees-Mets on both regular station and HD. Some channel listed as Fox Espanol lists Sox-Cubs. So, if you have digital cable, perhaps brushing on your spanish in the next week will help.

12:05 CT is 1:05 ET. Wouldn't that still be in the blackout time?

Okay, it's kind of a mixed bag thread, but does anyone know if Saturday's game will be covered on Extra Innings?

I'm stuck watching NY/NY here in small town hell and really want to see the game. If it's covered, maybe a local sports bar will have it on EI, but figured I'd ask if that's even possible.

From what I know, the blackout rule doesn't apply to bars. They get a better feed (and much, much more expensive) with rights to play it for an audience.

I say this because I frequent the local sports bar quite a bit, and I've never seen any MLB game blacked out/unable to be played. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure a bar is *always* an option for any game.

Doesn't look like it.

Charter has Fox scheduled to show it here, but that has been known to change at the last minute. Keeping my fingers crossed.

By the way, funny thing... I turned out to never even want to watch any of the three wretched games. Lets hope they can rebound this time around and re-even the whole thing up.

Our local sports bar doesn't get the Fox Saturday blackout games.

VC, maybe you should try calling around to see if any of your local bars will get it, if you're sure that if won't be on Fox by you. To my surprise, it's on Fox out here.

Well, we're getting the two mediocre NY teams. That gives me an excuse to check out the Folklife Fest on the mall.

I'm shocked the Vegas market is showing us on Fox. Normally we get one of the LA teams or of course NY or Boston (I know, I don't understand that "regional" logic either). Because of Fox, we typically can't see any Sox games on Saturday that start between 1pm and 5pm CT. Even the sportsbooks can't pickup the blacked out games. Need to resort to XM/internet on those days.

It's the FOX game here in Minnesota. The one nice thing about that is that I will get it in HD. My cable doesn't carry either WGN or Extra Innings in HD.

Of Course down here in NY South (South Florida) we ALWAYS, ALWAYS get Mets, Spankees, Red Saux. I still do not get the point of Fox blackouts.....People want choices. I will not watch NY/NY game out of spite.

There's no escaping it, I'm gonna be watching this game on Gameday. Man that sucks. It's the local affiliate that makes the decision. I'm going to protest by not even watching for highlights. Hope their ratings are so crappy showing those crappy teams that they get beat by the Buick Open sans Tiger...

OK, I'm in Columbus, Ohio, right now, so I'm pleased to get the Sox game.

But as a Dallas/Fort Worth resident, I continue to be perplexed by the force-feeding of the Yankees/Mets (or Red Sox) upon DFW.

Dallas-Fort Worth has many more Chicago and Midwest transplants than East Coast/NYC/Boston transplants!

I know many more people who live in Texas that are from Chicago or the Midwest than are from New York or New England.

Driving around DFW, I see lots of Illinois license plates. I rarely see New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts or other New England state license plates. In fact, I would say that among all state license plates I see in DFW, I see more plates from Illinois than just about any other state other than Texas itself, Oklahoma and Louisiana.

New Yorkers and New Englanders who move tend to move to Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas!

Chicagoans and Midwesterners who move tend to move to Texas or Arizona.

When will Fox wise up to this? :kukoo:

Someone at my Fox affiliate loves me! :D:

Actually, I know there is a huge Midwest transplant population here. So I guess that just proves that someone at my Fox affiliate has common sense! :o:

Raining hard there now, but playing.

Listening to Farmer and Stone, as gameday audio is not blacked out.

And there is now a rain delay.
