Some of you have mentioned that Quentin is suffering from some kind of a hand injury. Does anyone have any specific details?

I mentioned very early in the season that it seemed a little dangerous to grip the bat the way he does. He extends his thumb on his top hand, placing it directly on the bat. It certainly must give him added leverage, and a great top hand, but it would have to hurt when he gets jammed.
I hope that he doesn't have the same thing that has been bothering Konerko.

So he holds it like a golf club? Eh, I think he's just going through a minor cold streak.

A minor hand injury (even a pulled tendon or something civilians wouldn't notice) would explain a lot.

Not exactly. He places the soft part of his extended thumb right on the bat.
The part that is used in a thumb print.

You can't have a set date for his return. He needs to rest it for a couple of days and then slowly come back until the swelling and pain goes down.
