with el duque (not playing? for the mets)
freddy garcia not on a team
john garland with 6-3, 3.87, and 30 SO.
mb with 3-6, 4.80, and 46 SO
Jose wtih 3.18, 6-4, and 51 SO.

I realize that jose and john don't have terrible stats....but nothing near the dominance they had of 05, so here's my question...

if you make a WS title run, is your pitching lost for the next few years?

It seems that none of these guys have fully recovered and have taken this long to get back to "form"...

Was 05 just a total peak year for all of them or were their arms just destroyed?

Um, 3 out of the 5 seem to be doing pretty good for themselves. Especially JON Garland and Jose, I'd gladly take a 3.87 ERA and a 3.18.

Chisox:

Try asking the Braves and Yankees that question. They only went to the playoffs what, 12 and 13 straight years?

During the steroid era they did.

You don't see this happening anymore, though. The Tigers rotation fell apart down the stretch in 2007, the 2008 Red Sox rotation hasn't exactly stayed healthy, and the same goes for Cleveland's rotation this year.

Wouldn't steroids have ended Glavine, Maddux and Smoltz careers then?

What about Scot Podsednick?

 Let's not forget that Karl Everett moved over Willy Harris and set it all up so Germaine Dye could drive in the winning run in Game 4 of the WS.

Wow, you all like to gang up on folks, huh? I get it - the players are spelled wrong. I'll tell you what, though... it gets funnier each time you find another player to misspell!
