2-run, go-ahead RBI double splits the gaps. :D:
Two RBI double to the left-centerfield gap in his second AB.

Who is coming with me in 2033 to see him get inducted to Cooperstown?

My expert opinion now having seen him field one play is that he has good hands. The pick is justified.

That was a pretty good turn on the double play there too. With the direction the ball was hit he was facing centerfield and pivoted quickly enough to get a quick runner going down the line.
I like the pick.
It's Dankerific

You fire up your grill, I'll bring over 3 t bones and 3 porterhouses from How's and we'll eat and watch the first homegrown SS for the Sox since Bucky ****ing Dent.

I was surprised at how modest he looked physically considering his power numbers. To me, he looks like a future second baseman.

The stats he accumulated in the Japanese Leagues had nothing to do with it.
30-year old veterans from Japan = a bit more reliable than 21-year-old kids from the SEC

Liked what I saw, loved his power with the wood bats in Cape Cod 2007...he may be a future 2B, but I'll take his bat and his 15+ HR power any day of the week...
From what I saw yesterday, he should be able play a solid SS at the MLB level a few years down the road...

I just think it will be fun to actually have a premier prospect at a key defensive position to follow throught the minors. When's the last time we had this big of a prospect to follow like this? Borchard? Ventura and Thomas?
I've been a fan for 35+ years...I can't remember a SS/2B in our farm system like Beckham.

Georgia advances to the College World Series by beating NCSt. led by Beckham's two dingers.
Should be good chance to see him next week in Omaha on ESPN.
Great interview...

There is a nice highlight reel from Game 1 of Georgia V. NC State in the Super Regionals on ESPN's website showcasing a few of Beckham's hits.
