I'm guessing he had no options to be sent back down? With him traveling around to so many teams, its possible nobody takes him and he might clear waivers and go back to AAA.

thank goodness, finally we can get that bum Alexi out of there

Uribe's going to play because he's Ozzie's guy, but Alexi needs to stay in the lineup.

Alexi in CF, Swisher to the bench.

That was easy.

I thought about this, I guess that's a possibility. Just takes some getting used to say "Nick Swisher will be benched to make room for Juan Uribe."

So he could be sent down a few days later like he was.

Why burn an option on a player with a future with the team?

What future?

7th outfielder?

He's on his third or fourth team.

Exactly. I was talking about the other players who might have been called up instead. Why burn an option on a young prospect when Wise costs the team nothing to bring up?

And yet, Ozzie chose to start a guy deemed so worthless they cut him days later.

Goes to show you how happy he is with the other options he has at his disposal...

No thanks to his lineup choice.

Or that he pulls lineups out of his ass? There's no ****ing reason Wise should start over ANY of our current outfielders.....Regardless of how ****ty Swisher is playing.

No thanks to his lineup choice.

It didn't hurt us either. So why are you bitching about it?

I have no problem with the manager trying different lineup combinations at this point. We need a spark from somewhere. As it turned out, Wise didn't give us anything. But I don't see the harm.

He took an ofer and we won by one run. His whim could've very well cost us. I don't mind mixing things up when people are not producing, but starting a sad sack, who is so ****ing worthless that he's cut days later is dumb.

Since the Sox had already optioned Jerry Owens this year to Charlotte, this wouldn't have made any difference.

Easy to say in hindsight that he is worthless. He was hitting .338 in Charlotte. Maybe you catch lightning in a bottle for one day. What if he had gone 2-for-4? You never know. There was one AB where he was robbed of a hit that would have produced a run.

Ozzie's "whim" didn't work, but it didn't cost us anything. Big deal if Wise went 0-fer. Swisher and Anderson go 0-fer all the time, including tonight.

It DID go wrong, but it didn't cost us in the big picture.....The team played over Ozzie's mistake.

I guess Ozzie's decision to start Anderson in CF was a mistake tonight. He went 0-fer, and the team lost.
