Ok so I am really starting to get this going. I have taken a liking to calling him Doc Oc as in the Spiderman villain. I imagine a t-shirt or sign with all fastballs coming from all his arms. Anyone with me?

I voted no, but I would have liked to have seen a choice on the poll involving churros.

Its better than DJ's Oh Do Tell (god that is annoying), or any nickname involving initials...

When he gave up 3 walks to SF that Sunday, I was calling him "Roach" Dotel.

I support Doc Oc.

Astros announcers used to call him "Ducky" Dotel.

No idea why.

No, we're going to call him Doc Oc. Not Steve. He doesn't even look like Ian Ziering.

Is it just me, or does Dotel seem to pitch better when he gets himself into jams or comes into games with runners on? I think he likes taking on a challenge of sorts.

Yeah - I agree. Dotel likes to give me a bit of a rapid heart beat and I then hold my breath. Then, he gets out of the inning, pats his hand over his heart/Sox logo and walks back to the dougout. I am then able to breathe again!

Agreed. That's my only problem with the name. It just doesn't flow.

I thought you guys meant Steve as in, "Do, you're gettin' a Tel."

See, that's much worse than Doc Oc.

How does Doc Oc not just roll off the tongue. It's short, it rhymes, and you know it rhymes.

You bring up a good argument about the rhyming. But it's still not for me. It just sounds like some one who stutters trying to say the word "Dock".
