I was one of the posters that was ripping on Toby Hall for being a fat ass, lazy piece of you know what....for not getting the surgery taken care of last year.....for not using all his rehab time to get into decent shape over the winter.

I have to admit, the guy is hitting the ball extremely well now. It looks like he is finally performing just as we expected when we signed him.

Good job Toby! I am very happy to eat my plate of crow!...Yum!

:D: I agree...but I have to give the guy his props. I'll probably never like him (not even real sure why), and I still think he's a fatass...but he's a fatass that's hitting the ball right now.

Toby "My .351 average is not soft, thank you very much" Hall now has a higher slugging percentage than Frank Thomas, Vladimir Guerrero and Prince Fielder.

It's only 40 at-bats but he's made the most of his opportunity thus far - striking out only three times in those 40 at-bats.

I makes you wonder what could have been if he had not been playing first base and gotten the injury last year. It was a good signing at the time. I'm glad the Sox a starting to get some return for their money and Toby is getting the chance to silence his critics a bit.

Oh you meant Toby! For a while I thought we were issuing apologies to Arsenio Hall.

Toby Hall's hitting has impressed me this year, especially of late. He is making contacts and hits are falling. I always had faith in his hitting, however. I remain concerned with his defense, but he has contributed enough offensively lately that he has proved a better backup catcher than I expected.

Anytime Nick Swisher would like to earn an apology from me, he is encouraged to do so.

Hall is quickly becoming known for his bat, but not his glove. I know we don't have the best defensive catchers in the game, but do you think AJ, who throws out runners once in a while, could give Toby some tips on how to control the ball?

Anyway, I'm sorry I thought Paul Phillips would be better for us.

Ozzie is glad they kept him:

Since Hall is hitting this well, and if Ozzie keeps AJ in the #2 spot, I'd like to see Ozzie also have Hall bat #2 when he plays. That would allow Ozzie to stabilize the rest of the lineup and give the rest of the hitters more defined roles.

I really don't understand why there is so many people HATING Toby ? The guy plays maybe once every 5 days and so far he has been proving to be playing great as a back up for AJ !
