I know the entire bullpen's been looking great; but, I thought Scott Linebrink deserves a thread of his own. The guy seemingly has ice flowing through his veins. His stuff is completely nasty! Only giving up 3 hits in his past 10 outings, giving up only 3 earned runs all season, and surrendering just a single round-tripper, this guy has been delivering all season long.

It definitely is great to have him in our bullpen, and it's nice to know that he could possibly spell Jenks a time or two if Bad Bobby needs some rest.

Scott Linebrink, you are appreciated!

Thank goodness Linebrink signed here. The Mike MacDougal/David Aardsma experience is now a thing of the past.

And screw the media and all the GMs bitching and calling Kenny a nut head for setting the bar high on middle relief. He paid for him and he has been worth every penny.

The Sox paid the price for a quality relief pitcher and it shows.

This bullpen is light years ahead of what was there in 2006 and 2007.

I was a fan of Linebrink when he played for San Diego. Whatever troubles he had last year, he sure got over them. His signing is definitely the second-best move Kenny made during the offseason.

Wow, look at all the people jumping off windows at the time?

Sorry JB98, this one was priceless:

The whole bullpen has been great. 9-4, 3.14 ERA.

Just one home run allowed in this park, even at this point in the season, is exceptional.

The bullpen is the biggest difference from last year.

Jenks
Dotel
Linebrink
Logan
Masset
Thornton

Not much better than them out there.

he's pitching well now, but there's a looooong way to go.

Agreed - but he also pitches for a manager who knows how to use his bullpen. Let's stay on the optimistic side of things, shall we?

Not bad for a "monumental waste of money." :D:

I have to set my crow sandwich down in order to type this. I thought this was an extremely bloated contract for a guy I figured to have a 1.4 whip and a very difficult time getting AL hitters out with his Wickmanesque stuff. Thank god I don't know nearly as much as I think I do.

Yeah, for some reason I had this preconceived notion that Scott Linebrink wasn't a "stuff" guy before he got here. I now have no freakin' idea where that notion came from, as he features a tailing 93 mph fastball and myriad wicked as hell breaking pitches.

Still, the season's young. Scott's had a tremendous first third of the season. Let's hope he can keep it up...

Maybe he had Wickman stuff last year but this year, no resemblance.
I like our bullpen coming in with hard stuff;
Linebrink- 94mph
Dotel-94 mph
Logan-93 mph
Thornton- 95 mph
Massett- 93 mph
Jenks-95 mph

If they throw strikes...we have a power-arm Bullpen that can get it done.

I'm surprised he has been keeping his HRs down, hes been a stud so far this year!
