Three singles, does nothing towards scoring or driving in runs.

Great pick, Daver.

Yea he only got the base hit for the winning run, what the hell was Daver thinking?

I think we all know that getting on base is pretty much the same thing as scoring a run in baseball.

Toby was great today, but I probably would've given it to Q. However this may be due to the TCQ man-crush that I have developed.

Either way, arguing over the PTC is a great problem to have. Let's keep it up tomorrow and run this to 9!

What about Ozzie, he put him in the lineup in that spot?

By your logic the MVP of the World Series should have been Willie Harris.

Uh, and you know that Toby Hall, even at best, provided one base of the four that the winning run required, right?

Laffey was owning us all night, and Toby broke it up with that single. TCQ wouldn't have had a shot at the 2nd RBI if Toby didn't have a perfect game.

It's definitely a good problem to have either way. TCQ has gotten a good amount of these recently, I don't mind sharing the wealth.

Don't worry about it. Last time that the time and location for a duel were specified, I was there, and my brother-in-law (a Chicago cop) brought the elephant gun. But Daver refused to show.

I was merely pointing out the fallacy in your argument. A game-to-game PTC would not be the same as a series MVP.

Here's a sampling of a pair of players stats from the '05 World Series:

Player A: 4 G, 7/16 (.438), 3 R, 3 RBI, 1 HR, 2 BB (.500 OBP), .688 SLG
Player B: 2 G, 1/1 (1.000), 1 R

Can you guess which one is JD and which one is Willie Harris?

Fallacy?

Player A: 3/3 0 R, 0 RBI
Player B: 2/4 1 R, 2 RBI

You win 3 -1. Player A didn't score and didn't drive anybody in.
Player B scored an insurance run and drove both others in.

This one isn't even close.

If it'd been Buehrle who pitched of heck of a game, I'd say I disagree. But Hall? Somebody else didn't do their job last night.
