Because apparently Mets are looking for one and they want to get rid of Heilman.

Heilman's been worse than MacDougal, and why would we trade Thornton?

I don't know. Something about Heilman has always intrigued me.

He intrigued the Mets, too, until he couldn't get anyone out this year. He looks terrible and there is something possibly wrong with him, either mechanics-wise or just plain injury-wise. While I'd trade MacDougal for anyone, trading Thornton for another MacDougal is silly.

MacDougal is more of a ****-up man than set-up man. :redneck

If by set up man you mean set up a big inning, yeah, MacDougal is one.

We have no room to be dealing relievers (no contender does). Didn't we learn anything last year? If anything, we should be looking to add another reliever to further solidify the bullpen (Heilman isn't that guy).

MacDougal is setup man for disaster.

Maybe we can get the Mets to throw in Schoenweis, too!

Fine with me if they want MacDougal. But why in the world would we want their junk in return?

I've been reading Bill Veeck's book, and this looks like the kind of trade he talks about, trading two guys who just haven't been figuring it out in their respective organizations. Might be good for the players, and good for the teams.

I'd trade MacDougal for Heilman. But Thornton is a pretty good pitcher, so I wouldn't give up MacDougal and Thornton. Hell, I wouldn't even give up Thornton alone.

Oh, then I'll walk MacDougal to Queens. He's done too much WALKing anyways.

Unlikely that any team would take MacDougal because (1) he's got a big contract and (2) he's bad.
