This will be over-blown like mad. First, it's the Boston Red Sox, second, Jon Lester recovered from Cancer. The combination has the ability to equal the media coverage of 5 no-hitters.

Great game though, even though it's the Royals, Jon Lester pitched a great game.

The coverage won't be any madder that when a rookie Red Sox pitcher making his second career start did it last year.

He sure was pumped up during that last inning. He was throwing some crazy pitches, especially considering he was over 120 pitches! 95 mph high fastballs with tail on them, and crazy breaking 89 mph sliders. I don't think I've ever seen him throw like that.

SoxNation05

I was in Boston with our Sox when he was diagnosed and that organization put him on their shoulders. Comgrats to the Sawx and more importantly Jon Lester.

Does he normally throw 96mph for his fastball? Was that a fast gun or is that is normal velocity?

I don't know. I've never seen him throw that hard before, but he really looked like he was throwing smoke that last inning. Explosive stuff. Could have been the adrenaline.

Then they talked about how he has come back from cancer..The nerve of those folks in Bristol..

Mark Buehrle's No-no last year led off Sportscenter and BBTN. In case you have not noticed, no hitters are not regular occurrances.

Eh, I'm not too pumped it was against the Royals. More than likely, they will be out of it at the end of the year while Boston will be right there. I'm hoping the Sox will as well and Boston could be a potential Wild Card spoiler.

I can say this: I get "breaking news" texts from Yahoo. They sent one out last year for the Buehrle, Verlander and Bucholz no-hitters. I did not get one last night for Lester's.

Of course ESPN is going to talk about it, it's a freakin' no-hitter. If you guys can't stand ESPN why do you keep watching?

Anyway, congrats to Jon Lester. He has been through a lot and regardless of what team he pitches for it is a good story. Also, it did come against an AL Central foe so that makes it even sweeter for us.

I thought the cancer line would put it over the top so I would not have to use teal, because I just wanted to point out how silly people are with this ESPN Boston thing. It is a no freaking hitter, of course it is going to get a ton of coverage.

And then to top it off, the same people crying about that will then cry that we're no longer flying under the radar when we get "too much" coverage.

Nah, they'd be saying things like "about time we got some coverage!" Then, after the Sox win their 4th World Series in a row, they will say the Sox deserve all the coverage because they are the best.

Basically, if it isn't Sox coverage all the time, coverage of any other team is a slight to the Sox.
