According to a report at Politico.com (I know the link discusses politics, but the information I'm pointing out is wholly apolitical) the Yankees filed their annual financial report with the city of New York. http://www.politico.com/playbook/0508/playbook309.html
Highlights of the report include that:
- they made nearly $200 million in gate revenue in 2007
- Yankee Stadium revenue was nearly $320 million in 2007
- over $65 million in concession sales
- with the new stadium and the increases in ticket prices they are projecting nearly $250 million in gate revenue next year.
Seriously, the Yanks are a money machine that is almost staggering at this point.
