Anybody and ESPN Insider? There's an article on ESPN.com about Vazquez's 6th inning issues, and I'm curious about what they have to say. We've all been aware of his problems for a while, though he's done better this year.

Vazquez hasn't had 6th inning issues since 2006.

Actually he's getting rocked pretty badly in the 6th so far this year.

4th inning: 207/207/414
5th inning: 281/324/406
6th inning: 433/438/633
7th inning: 188/235/438

Interesting I hadn't really noticed that. Still its not on 2006 levels where everything came unraveled in the 6th inning and he couldn't get out of it. He may be getting hit in that inning but he's gone past the 6th in 5 of his 8 starts this year. I think in 2006 he went about a month in a half without doing that.

Looking at his results from this season, it looks like he's had three rough starts. In his first start he didn't make it into the 6th. On 4/23 he gave up 3 in the 6th to the Yankees, and on 5/10 he gave up 3 in the 6th to the Mariners. Also, on 4/18 he gave up 2 runs in the 6th to Tamba Bay, but still had a good outing. Other than that, he's been pretty solid. So, when he has had trouble this year, it has usually come in the 6th inning, but it's been less of a problem this year than in years past.
