How has pitching coach Don Cooper done so far this season?

A+++

Now only if he can get Mark straightened out...

If you can go above an A, I'm all for it. He's made Danks and Floyd very good pitchers this year. If only he can get Mark Buehrle to be more consistent...

An A for sure. He's the pitching coach, and the pitching staff has been great.

Simple logic, yes, but still a dramatic turnaround compared to last season.

Granted, some things beyond a coach's control are contributing to this (namely, better bullpen talent), but so far, who can argue with these results?

Contreras is pitching with control that far exceeds his career norms. Floyd has been nothing short of spectacular. Danks is striking out 3 times as many batters as he walks.

My opinion: dog gone it, he's getting a few Bs.

I give him a B. There are still some question marks in the bullpen and Buehrle hasn't done well, but it's not all his fault.

Stingy, stingy graders here at WSI.

The man has Floyd and Danks looking like world beaters, Vazquez is leading the AL in strikeouts and has seemed to have gotten through to Jose to turn his game around and you give him a B?

Buehrle's a veteran and he'll come around. Holding Coop completely responsible for him is like exclusively blaming Walker for Thome's poor average.

I gave Coop an A so far. I think he's done a nice job coaching the starters (Burls will be fine - I hope) and in my opinion, the bullpen's been pretty good so far.

I'll give him a B. The staff is pitching well, but not dominating.

The White Sox are currently the number one pitching staff in runs against in the American League. To my mind, if that doesn't qualify for an A I don't know what does.

Nobody cares that as a player he only won one major league game?

Honestly, he could be the world's worst croquet player as long as he's one of the best pitching coaches and I wouldn't care.

An "A," of course. Can Coop start working with our hitters?

I gave him a B, some of the pitchers still don't know how to hold a runner on first.
