West Coast wiin? I don't even know what that feels like.

Highlights

Contreras kept the string of good SP going
Thome murdered that home run

FWLIW, I thought his play on the gapper was equally impressive. He basically dove and caught the ball on one hop to keep it to a single from a double.

I think I should bench Thome more often. He seems to always have a big game when he's there. I don't care, though, because that home run basically put this game out of reach from my standpoint.

And that time he told Derrek Lee it was a foul ball and Lee got doubled up. :rolling:

A three-run lead after the top of the 7th? It's still a save-situation. Hardly "out-of-reach" with three at-bats to go for the home team.

What a sight to see, the bases loaded with one out, no double play, no strike out and no pop out. Paulie with a double that would be the difference in the game. Hopefully he is about to get it going.

I wish there was a way to get BA in the lineup more often, because his defense saved Jose tonight.

We did it last year. :(:

We were lucky to win the 88 games we did last year. Right now we have 6 players hitting under .200 and Richie is just 2 points above that at .202. The one guy that was doing well while with the M's was traded to the Braves and immediately got a game winning hit. What the heck is wrong with this picture?:scratch:

The catch by BA was definitely a good one.

Despite hitting at the top of the order, Swisher has hit into three times as many double plays as Konerko, and Nick would be one of the worst offensive first basemen in the game. Leave him in the OF.

Well, that was an enjoyable game!

Robin Ventura did a nice job with Farmio, I thought. Didn't talk as much as Stone does, but Stone has analysis of just about everything, he's great that way. Ventura did good commentary and made me laugh a few times.

Awesome catch by Anderson, definitely a key play in the game.

I think he would hit better if he was taken out of the OF, which is why I proposed the GIDP trade, plus his salary is cheaper than Konerko's. Still, nice to see the pitching continue to excel and hopefully that keeps up and the bats don't go back into the perpetual slump that's existed since 2nd half 2K6.

The pitching rotation continues to impress me. Take out the Buehrle game on Wed. and this pitching staff as been great the last few weeks. Smart move by Ozzie to put BA in CF last night, Swisher wouldn't have made that catch. First win of a long road trip could set the tone, especially out west where we have historically done bad in. Keep up the hitting and win another one tonight!:bandance:

Uribe looks like he's heating up for one of his hot streaks...when he's hitting line drives to RF...that's a good sign. He's hitting .333 over the past week...and pretty well overall since he made that adjustment to his stance. I'm sure that idiot Greg Walker had nothing to do with that.

Anderson now hitting .270...4th best on the team.

Funny/Chuckle inducing moment on BBTN after the game. They were showing the highlights and BA's #2 webgem (Carl Crawford went airborne for a catch for #1) and one of the announcers mentioned he was filling in for Swisher and then mentioned Wally Pip (spelling? the dude Lou Gehrig subbed for). Now, I would love BA in CF more often, but that made me laugh out loud.
