Where is Juan Silverio? He is the 16 year old they paid the big bonus to (I think he's out of the Dominican Republic). Where does a 16 year old start? Does he wait for the Rookie league? And if so, what is he doing in the meantime?

Don't know for sure, but my money is on him being in the Extended Spring Training/Instructional League right now getting ready for rookie ball.

Are you sure you're spelling his last name correctly? I searched the minor league section of Baseball-reference.com and came up empty. I search MiLB's database and a "Juan Silverio" who is a 17 year old pitcher (http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?clubs=&leagues=&t=s_pla&q=Silverio&x=10&y=10) in the White Sox system came up. There is no stat information about the person available.

Maybe the search came up empty because he is too young to start playing?

I know the person you're talking about exists, I've read about him before. He's supposed to be a shortstop with tremendous potential.

I got the kid's name from a story by Phil Rogers from Dec. 17. Here is the link to the article

looks like he'll probably play in the dominican summer league... White Sox 1 team... I don't know when it starts but this is where all the really young guys play... they started that league in June last year.

I know he exists too since I got his autograph down in Tuscon this year when they were all getting off the bus coming back from a game.
