Ok I know there is a lot wrong with this team right now. But as each day goes by I wonder why we brought him up. I know he did good at the end of last year but Mike McDougal was doing just fine before we sent him down. Someone said well McDougal was pitching in non pressure situations. That may be true but what do you call Wasserman's effort tonight when we were already down 8 runs. I dont know this is just one change of many that need to be made. It is pathetic that a veteran team is so up and down.

I'll take Wasserman over MacDougal anyday.

Are you serious? Your so quick to judge him harshly after an outing where he came in with the team down 0 to 7.
Not to mention, most of that inning was flukey hits.

Give the man a chance, damn. He hasn't even thrown 3 innings.

McDougal WAS pitching in non pressure situations and he still couldn't stop walking guys or have a 1-2-3 inning.

Like with a lot of the Sox hitters, I think his issues became mental, not willing to trust his stuff, thinking to much, not reacting well to being out on the mound.

Wasserman is the least of my worries on a team who can't score a damn run vs the great Livan Hernandez

O brother do we have issues.

Do you mean Ehren WassermanN? I'm not one to point out spelling errors, but you can't be serious about starting this thread after that game?

The entire team's offense has been completely unproductive for over a week, and before that the offense wasn't anything to brag about, besides homerun production, and you are concerned with a righty specialist?

Wassermann is basically the last man in the bullpen, for now, as he has just been called up, was impressive enough in spring training to have made the opening day roster, didnt give up an earned run while in AAA, and you're judging him on less than 3 innings of work, more specifically in tonight's game? Of the many changes that have been suggested, this one is the worst I've heard.

Sorry about the rant, but come onnnn...

MacDougal was judged after only 8 innings of work. like I said in my first post there is a lot wrong with the team right now. I just felt like talking about wassermann right now

...plus another 42 IP last year that were just TERRIBLE. At least Wassermann has done the job done and got guys out within the last ~20 months.

This is really disputing the tallest midget though. I could really care less who is up in that spot, because if we are arguing about their ineffectiveness, then the problems go FAR BEYOND just the last spot in the bullpen.

Whatever. Typical Twins inning tonight with an infield single, and a couple of bloopers to start it off. Not worried a bit.

MacDougal has not been judged after 8 innings of work. He's being judged over an awful 2007, and following it up with command issues again this year.

And we are very glad you felt like doing that. I hope the KW in your name doesn't stand for our KW and that you plan on bringing up the Mac attack anytime soon!:redneck

EW's not brutal, he had a bad outing or two but I have way more faith in him than I do in the sluggers in the batting order right now ... :(:

And if I never see Mike MacDougal pitch in a Sox uniform again, I'll be a happy fan. He was giving me the '2007 Cliff Politte' syndrome where I wanted to either crawl under my seat or leave the room whenever he came into a game.

The thought of Mike MacDougal coming in from the bullpen makes me sick to my stomach. 8 innings? GMAB, where were you last year?

This thread is brutal.

Wassermann did a great job last year and was excellent in Triple A. He deserves to be here over MacDougal; in fact he deserved to make the team over either Masset or MacDougal out of ST.

Terrible outings in games where we were already blown out and our offense wasn't doing jack don't bother me. If Wassermann, Buehrle, and Masset were going to each have a horrible game this week I'm glad they did it all at once and in a game we couldn't have won with our ****ty offense.

What does bother me though is seeing guys like Dotel get it done in meaningless situations and then blow the lead in the games that we still have a chance in. That was a good portion of our bullpen last year, including MacDougal but not including Jenks and Wassermann, and that's why this thread sucks.

The only thing that really worried me about Wassermann is that he falls off to the 3rd base side BIG TIME after he releases the pitch. That's an easy bunt single there which can kill us if he comes in during a close game.

Well since it hasn't been used yet.
