For a minor leaguer, this is more "Tigers dump Grilli on Rockies" but they did this to make room for another reliever.

That's assuming Grilli is still with the Rockies in two months.

No better time to order Jason Grilli t-shirts than now! These'll become collector's issues.

If they got something for him, we can get something (more) for some of our middle relief stiffs.

This sucks. I wanted him to stay for a long time with the Tiggers.

Can't seem to find a reason to dump on Grilli. He was what he was.

We got two minor leaguers for David Aardsma. There's a deal, I don't care who we got in return.

Is he still in Boston's pen?
I know one team that gave up a lot for MacDougal - us.

I honestly don't care.

I know one team that gave up a lot for MacDougal - us.And he improved our bullpen for the second half of 2006. You couldn't argue with that trade at the end of 2006. What is with you and hindsight? Methinks one day you decided to take a look at Lumsden and and Cortes' stats, and saw that Cortes was pitching well...so you decided to bitch.

All I now is that Grillli is better than almost everything we trotted out last year, and other than his wild streak against the Sox earlier in one game, he's been okay.

I always felt he didn't have the stuff to start, but over all, he's been good, especially for a $400K reliever.

For a team in dire need of arms, I find this trade very curious, unless another trade is in the works.

Francisco Cruceta was finally called up, that's why this was done. He was held up due to visa problems but finally got in. Grilli didn't have any options left. He was highly touted and was lights out in AAA for his warm up work.

I was shocked they were able to get something in return. It came down to he and Zach Miner. Miner had an option left though.

He's probably not as bad as Tiger fans make him out to be, it's just that when he was bad he was very bad. His home/road splits were striking and so the home crowd never saw much of a good Grilli.

He was always atrocious. If he can get traded...:o:
