Hows it looking in the southern half of the Chicago area? Its pretty cloudy up here in Schaumburg...but the hourly forecast says there will be a gap of about 2 hours between 6 and 8 where it will "just" be "cloudy". Think we'll have a delay tonight?

I would love for them to call the game at like two o'clock and say they're going to play two tomorrow.

I'm down for that. I could catch a double header for my first trip to the park this season

I work with a trained weather spotter (Instructor) who was looking over the radar, said the worst of the storms should end by game time. No later than 8 pm. Hope this helps..

The whole weekend looks bad. Tommorrow will be tolerable. Sunday, I'm entertaining a kid to the game. What a great day for his first experience at the ballpark!

Radar cleared up, knock on wood.

I pray we get this game in. Some people can't go to a double header tomorrow and would like to see a game tonight :D:.

Kinda related question:

Does anyone know if Comcast SportsNet Plus is in HD? I just switched to Comcast yesterday and really want to see some HD baseball :)

Freaking CSN+ games! They're the only ones I can't get in HD. I have Dish and as far as I have been able to tell they don't have an HD feed for CSN+ :'-(

As for the weather I don't expect a delay... looking at the radar it looks like the whole thing is going to miss us IMHO... I'm about 20 or so miles south of the park right now and it's sunny out.

Huh... well look at that... yea, that was definitely not there last time I looked. Well at least it looks like a quick soaker that should pass through pretty quickly.

Here's the local radar (http://www.weather.com/outlook/travel/businesstraveler/map/interactive/60616?from=36hr_maps&zoom=8&interactiveMapLayer=radar).

At the moment, there are no watches/warnings in Cook County but plenty of such to the counties west of us.

I couldn't believe they started it either. Did they miss that giant green and yellow blob on the doppler radar? You don't need to be Tom Skilling to tell that this means rain is coming.

It's not wise to mess up a pitcher's routine. I know it sounds redonkulous when he only threw like 8 pitches tonight, but you don't want to get his off-day workouts and sessions all off kilter.

UofCSoxFan

He threw less than 10 pitches but you can add another 30 or so to that in warmups (at least).

As far as holding him back til Tues or Weds, against the Twins, its understandable this early in the eyar, especially how cautious they've been with him this year.

That being said it was DUMB for them to start this game in the first place. It also would have made more sense for the the Sox to combat this DUMB decision to start the game by starting Massett today and putting Burls in IF the game ever got restarted.

UGH...not happy.

I stated in the gamethread they should have started Masset due to the blatantly obvious delay at game time. But I didn't realize the true ramifications of this blunder. I thought Burls would possibly go tomorrow but forsure no later than Sunday. Now they just lost a start in the rotation from their #1 due to not using common sense.

Don't know and I can't predict if weather will cancel a game before Wednesday. I know tho that starting Masset today, knowing a delay was coming was the obvious thing to do. If the game resumed, Burls could have taken over, If it was canceled, Burls would go tomorrow. I always thought a team should maximize the number of starts from their premier pitchers, losing a start does not do this.

Vazquez is the Sox ace, no matter what people want to say. I think Danks and Floyd are pitching well enough that they can go back-to-back, and it won't matter to the bullpen.

So it'll probably be Contreras and Vazquez on Sunday and Monday, and Buehrle and Floyd on Tuesday and Wednesday.

It wasn't all that cold at the game. Of course I was wearing a t-shirt, a sweatshirt, a hoodie, and my team jacket, but I didn't wear gloves or my sweatpants under my jeans.

Tomorrow night I have a game at Kane County, and I'm planning on wearing all of the above plus maybe trying to fit another jacket under my jacket.
