View Full Version : May/June Schedule

Looking ahead a little I noticed that the Sox will play only 9 games at home during the entire month of May. This, plus the fact that their travels will take them to Toronto, Seattle, Los Angeles and St. Petersburg (also SF and CLE). Talk about racking up the miles! It could be a brutal month. I will be in Seattle on May 10th to support them.

Conversely, in June they play all but 10 games at home and 3 of the road games are at the urinal.

I do not envy the people that have to put together a MLB schedule.

We're home (in Chicago) every weekend in June. At least I can save some money in May.

Not that it means anything, but playing franchise on MLB 08 the show, I went broke in the month of May.

Yeah, but they have done extremely well on the road so far this year, and it should also mean that later in the year during our stretch drive to the playoffs :D: we will have a lot of games at home.

We have a boatload of home games in June and August.

All games count the same ans a Win in April is just as important as a Win in September. Heck, if it wasn't for the Sox hot start in April 2005, chances are that they would have missed the Playoffs.

I'm looking at the schedule right now and I really like the stretch of home games that We have in August. That Home Field Advantage will be HUGE for Us and hopefully We can use that stretch to put some distance between Us and whomever is chasing Us.

In September, We spend the first 2 weeks at home, playing a game every single day for exactly 2 weeks! That could be a stamina cutting stretch. Hopefully, that this is exactly what September Call-Ups are for and hopefully they can take a bit of the load off.

After that, We go on the road for 2 weeks. That's going to be a big test as well.

Hopefully, the last 3 games of the season, 3 at home against Cleveland, won't mean a thing! :gulp::)

I know it's tough to make a fair schedule for all 30 teams for all 162 games, but just having a computer do it seems like the worst option of them all.

May happens to be the month I am home

First the league blacks out the Sox on MLB.tv here, then they never play at home when I am

MLB just loves to **** me:whiner:

I was thinking this is a great schedule from a $$$ standpoint for the team. Seems like there is not alot of monday games, and they are at home more in the heart (warm part) of the season.

The Yankees have 18 road games in April and given the stupidity of opening up in cold weather sites and having the Angels for example, open in a dome in Minnesota, instead of BOTH opening at home, my comment is that there has to be a better way to do this then the way it's being done right now.

What they really should do is, at least have all the southern teams open up at home (have the Sox start their series in Texas or Tampa, for example). You could possibly have Seattle start at home, as well as other teams with retractable roofs or domes; but, it's just absurd for the Sox, Detroit, Cleveland, Boston, the Cubs, and any other northern team to start at home under the conditions we've been accustomed to having.

The Sox and Cubs have inverse schedules. The Cubs are getting most of their home games out of the way in the beginning of the season, while we have a ton of home games towards the later stages. I think that'll end up really helping us out when this team is most fatigued...at least they won't have to deal with as much of the travel factor!

I found out that playing MLB 08 The Show before every Sox game curses them...so I stopped. Got my game on today though :).

Best. Game. Ever.

I made a pitcher and have now replaced John Danks in the rotation.

I wish I had a PS3 for it, until then, I'll play it on my PSP, it's still a good game though.

Actually that's binary for "I do not envy you either".

Computer software is only as good as it is designed to be and the quality of it's output is related to the quality of its input. In other words...

Yeah, that May schedule is rough. TOR and SEA are solid but haven't hit there stride yet, LA is very good and SF is awful. We all know about the west coast struggles but if the sox don't play well they could really put themselves in a hole. But i think that being on the west coast for a week + should help.

I wonder what the recond for road games in a month is because the sox have got to be pushing it. but then in June the sox will be in Chicago for only 6 games (DET, LAD)

Actually, they are in Chicago for all but 7 games. They will be in TB on the 1st, DET 10-12 and LA 24-26. They will be in Chicago for all other days (including 3 at Wrigley).

I do not know when this happened, but the Houston Astros were away from the Astrodome for I believe an entire month due to one of the political parties having their national convention there.

Edit:
The Astros left the Astrodome for 26 days during 1992 for the Republincan party's national convention

In March there were people posting here that the season could be over in April because of he tough schedule. It's always something

Just about everyone complains about some facet of the schedule. The Texas Rangers owner complained about his team opening on the road. The day after I read the story, a Rangers game was postponed at home.

I know the Braves left home for the '96 Olympics
