0-0 top 13.

Sucks a little bit for my fantasy team since Peavy couldn't get the win.

Sacks packed with 1 out for the Rockies.

Edit: 1-0 Rockies on a bases loaded walk.

Edit x2: 1st two on for the Padres in the bot. half.

Padres rally to tie it at 1, they had the bases loaded with 1 out when Bard hit a single to tie it, the next guy popped out and the guy after that grounded out to 3rd.

1-1 going into the 15th.

Edit: GIDP The pitcher is up, last at-bat was in 05.

George Fraiser just asked what the longest innings caught were (yeah, I know the grammar on that isn't quite workin). Turns out it was Fisk, May 9, 1984 against the Brew Crew that lasted for 25 innings. Fisk caught the entire game and the Sox won 7-6.

Haha. The broadcasters get kind of crazy when games drag on this long.

They need to end it soon so I don't have an excuse to stay up.

Oh yeah. The two innings they spent tallking about (and showing) the 3 little kids in the sandbox was hilarious.

Here we go - top of the 20th.

I don't know how they could. Rockies are on their way to Houston. Padres are at D-backs.

Whoops. For some reason I was thinking that this was a series that was continuing.

Hey, it's 3:06 a.m. and I just woke up a little while ago.

Although that does make it a little more complicated since both teams have to travel. They could suspend it until the next time the Rockies are in San Diego.

Sounded like one hell of a game. And looked like us last night losing on an unearned run. Talk about taxing your bullpen?

By the way, Hello Kip Wells again. Nice win for him.

2-1 in 22.

It amazes me they only combined for 3 runs in 22 innings. 25 hits total - and only 3 runs, of those only 2 were earned.

But what amazes me most is Josh Bard and Yorvit Torrealba both went all 22 innings behind the dish. I caught in HS - and I know what a full HS game did to me. I can't imagine going 22 innings. Those guys much be in an awful lot of pain today.

Batting Average killers? 0-7 for Hawpe. 1-9 for Helton. 0-7 for Iguchi.

Jake Peavy is looking like the best pitcher on the planet right now. Too bad he couldn't get a single run of support. Jeff Francis had a pretty good game too.

That 25 hits combined comes out to about .5 H/IP. I don't know the walk totals, but that's a great rate for hits allowed by the combined pitchers.

I agree on both of them. Peavy is great. There may be some guys as good as him, but nobody right now so clearly better. Francis looks like an awesome talent also. His numbers don't show it, but he looks to me like a guy who will be a star in this league at some point.

only 13 walks combined....

(25+13)/(22*2) = 0.863

Two awesome pitchers started the game, and both bullpens pitched amazingly. The pens threw 29 IP, allowed 2 ER on 18 hits and 9 walks combined. Kip Wells went 4 innings with 1 hit and 1 walk. Ledezma went 5 innings with 3 hits and 2 walks.

I can think of many good pitching performances that I saw - this one may be the best OVERALL pitching performance in terms of having 15 guys pitch and 13 of them doing great.

I concur, a fantasy baseball managers dream :D:. Damn Padres if you could only have given him run support I would have been 2-0 last night with 19 k's in 14.0 IP and an ERA less then 1. Still lead the league at least .

Which is just what he needed. I wish he would have been able to add a 'W' as well. His confidence has looked a bit shaky so far this season.

So far the late night has had no ill effect - Rox up 6-0 with 2 outs in the first. Of course, now the big joke from the announcers is that they shouldn't sleep anymore. :redneck

Edit: I open my big mouth and it's 6-4 by the time the first is over.

July 4th, 1985 Atlanta and New York played until 3:55 AM. After two rain delays and 19 innings, they shot off the Independence Day fireworks show
