Sept. 15... Sweep the Yanks--almost.
The Sox are officially eliminated after blowing a 4-run lead. Yanks win 8-4 in six rain-shortened innings.
Sept.14... Roadkill Yankees!
The Sox put seven runs up in the fourth and fifth innings and roll over the hapless Yankees 8-1!
Sept. 13... Gasp! Yankees lose!
A 2-run eighth and an 8-run ninth turns a close game into a rout. Sox beat the Yankees 13-2!
Sept. 12... Garland shines!
Jon Garland pitches a one-hitter before Jerry Manuel comes and gets him! Sox win 5-1 to take the series over Kansas City.
Sept. 11... Buehrle off again.
The chance of winning 20 games gets fainter as Mark Buehrle loses along with the Sox, 9-6 the final.
Sept. 10... Slam the Royals
A team effort to score 12 runs and pound Kansas City. Sox win 12-4!
Sept. 9...Hunting Byrds!
9/9...The Sox try to lose one, but the Sox offense steps in just in time!
Sept. 8... 4-run Ninth = Victory!
Frank Thomas hits a three-run dinger with 2 out and 2 strikes in the ninth to tie the game and launch the Sox to a thrilling 7-6 victory over Cleveland!
Sept. 7... National Embarrassment.
The Sox are on national TV, so naturally they suck. Sox lose 4-2 to the pathetic Indians in truly dreadful fashion.
Sept. 6... Comeback falls short.
Mark Buehrle is wild and the Antonio Osuna gives up two runs in the ninth to nudge Cleveland to the winning margin. Sox lose 9-7.
Sept. 5... Pitching implodes.
Magglio Ordonez managed a three-run homer in the first inning, but it was all downhill for Sox Fans and their pitching. Sox lose 11-6 to Cleveland.
Sept. 4... Back to their old ways.
The Sox get no hitting, pitching, or baserunning and lose in pathetic fashion, 6-2 to Toronto.
Sept. 3... Bombs Beat Jays!
Jose Valentin comes through with two key homers to lift the Sox to their seventh straight victory, 5-4 over Toronto.
Sept. 2... Six in a Row!
Jon Garland strikes out seven and Joe Borchard gets his first-ever homerun as the Sox beat Toronto 5-3!
Sept. 1... Buehrle nails #17!
Mark Buehrle is the man in a complete game shutout to beat and sweep the Tigers, 7-0 the final!
August 31... Killin' Kitties!
The Sox explode for five runs in the first inning and roll over the Tigers, 9-4 the final.
August 30... They're Ba-aack!
No strike and the Sox 2002 nightmare will continue another month. Danny Wright settles down and the Sox win a meaningless game in Detroit, 4-3.
August 28... Garland Brilliant!
Jon Garland threw a complete game 6-hit shutout and the Sox cruise behind two homers and five rbi's by Magglio Ordonez, 8-0 over Toronto. Was this the last game of the season?
