WSI News Index - Totally Biased Game Recaps
May 15... Fun While It Lasted
An eighth inning pitching implosion does the Sox in as they lose 10-8 to Detroit.
May 14... Better Late than Never
John Danks put Sox in early hole, but career night from Dayan Viciedo and stellar outings from bullpen propel Sox to comeback win
May 13...Offense? Offense? Bueller?
Humber pitches his heart out for the first time since the perfecto, but once again, his offense gives him minimal support against a horrible pitching staff, and Thornton and Reed serve up batting practice.
May 12... Cold Bats on a Wet Night
Chris Sale could not get his pitches to work and neither did the Sox bats as they were shutout by the Royals 5-0 in rainy U.S. Cellular Field.
May 11... Floyd Continues to Shine
Gavin Floyd continued his stellar pitching and the Sox offense came through in the clutch in a nearly flawless ballgame.
May 9 ... Nice to have a laugher, huh?
Adam Dunn homers and Jake Peavy cruises as the White Sox win big and gain a series split in Cleveland.
May 8... Rios to the Rescue
Alex Rios had a huge run-scoring triple in extra innings that propelled the Sox to a 5-3 win in Cleveland.
May 6... Axelrod Shaky, Offense Non-Existent
Dylan Axelrod was shaky at best and other than an Adam Dunn home run, the Sox offense was anemic.
May 5... Dunn Declaws Detroit
Gavin Floyd pitched a steady game that was saved by an Adam Dunn two-run homer in the ninth to beat the Detroit Tigers 3-2 at Comerica Park.
May 4...Thanks, Thornton
Peavy holds down the Tiger offense and Beckham had a great game, but Matt Thornton inexplicably is tabbed to close the game out and, of course, fails to.
May 3... Danks Dooms Sox
John Danks collapses as Sox fall to Indians
May 2 ... Ohman, that sucked
White Sox pitchers walked eight batters and paid for it in a 6-3 loss to the Cleveland Indians.
May 1... Flash Gordon
Gordon Beckham had a breakout night to lead the Sox to a 7-2 victory over the Indians.
April 29... Sox Avoid Sawx Sweep
The towering home run down the right field line off the bat of Adam Dunn helped boost the Sox to a 4-1 victory.
April 28... A Wasted Peavy Beauty
Jake Peavy pitched a complete game but gets no run support, losing 1-0 to the Boston Red Sox.
April 26... Not Quite Perfect
Humber gives up nine runs as White Sox fall to Red Sox
April 25 ... Santiago Blows Up
Paul Konerko hit his 400th career home run, but the milestone blast went to waste when closer-for-now Hector Santiago imploded in the 14th inning.
April 24... Thornton in Our Side
Gavin Floyd pitched very well. However, the Sox offense could only muster four hits in getting shutout 2-0 to the Oakland Athletics.
April 22... Sweeping in Seattle
It was not perfection by any means, but the Sox got just enough from John Danks and the offense, which never quit.
April 21... Perfect
Philip Humber pitched a perfect game. End of story
