Sox pitchers walk the team to a loss

June 20th vs. Twins

Daily Sox Crop Report:
Spoiled by weevils
Punchless Sox hitters and wild pitching sinks the Sox

Short Take:   Ugh...stupid Twins

Let me be clear.

Even though the Sox lost 5-4, the Twins are STILL crappy and perpetual losers.

The problem is they don't play like it when they play the White Sox.

Odds are it was going to be ugly tonight for the Sox with Hector Noesi on the mound. And as is his habit, he coughed up four runs early (and blew a Sox lead in the process) and then he settled down.

Sox right handed starters now have a 6.08 ERA this season, in case you were wondering.

It started so well. The Sox beat Nolasco like the 5 point something ERA pitcher he is...for all of two hitters. Beckham hit a long homer and then Jose Abreu followed with his 21st of the year.

And then they took the next seven innings off.

Honestly, this felt like a game in 2010. The Twins throw a bad pitcher out there, the Sox get a few early runs and then are shut down. Well, not really shut down - after all they did manage to hit some popups. Several popups. So many popups.

It was just a listless effort tonight against a bad team. The kind of game that makes you want to pull your hair out. How this team can wipe the floor with a guy like Tim Hudson and get shut down by just boggles the mind.

Even when the Sox showed signs of life in the 9th when they came back and tied the game, it was frustrating. Their best hitter, Connor Gillaspie came up to the plate with the bases loaded and one out...and he grounded into a double play.

There was worse to come.

It really felt like a classic Sox-Twins game going into the 9th. Daniel Webb walked the 8th and 9th hitters, which was not a good idea. Scott Downs managed to get Danny Santana to fly out, but then Ronald Belisario gave up a hit to Brian Dozier. Former White Sox Eduardo Escobar came around to just get under Nieto's tag at the plate.

Sox lose, but remember: The Twins are still crappy. They are perpetual losers.

The Futures Market:
Sell. This team is a .500 team, sometimes they'll win in incredible fashion and other times they'll lose in infuriating fashion. Tonight was one of those nights.
