White Sox blasts and Astro gaffes

May 16th at Astros

Daily Sox Crop Report:
Adam Dunn and Connor Gillaspie mash

Short Take:   Sox offense scores 7 runs for Jose Quintana, his first win since April 8.

I keep forgetting that the Astros are now in the American League. But really, the way they're playing of late, they might as well be in the Texas League.

Whatever league they're in, the Sox beat 'em 7-2 in one of those games that just lulls you to sleep. Or at least it would lull you to sleep if it weren't for the people/coyotes/possible murder victims who kept howling in the stands on TV.

One guy who was not going to be lulled to sleep tonight was Jose Quintana. He took the mound looking for his first win since his second start on April 8th. And at first, it looked like your average start from the King of No Decisions, meaning the Sox looked dead.

The Sox only had two hits going into the sixth and were trailing 2-0, thanks in large part to some lousy outfield defense and a big error by Dayan Viciedo.

But then the Sox offense showed up in the form of Adam Dunn. After Abreu and Gillaspie got on, Dunn got his first hit in more than a week. And man, what a hit it was.

It was his first home run since April 28th (a lot of "first time since April" for the White Sox tonight) and it was all the offense the Sox would need, though they added four more.

The Sox bullpen, which has been surprisingly reliable of late, came in and shut the door.

The Futures Market:
Buy. The next two games are against the Astros for pete's sake! The Charlotte Knights could beat the Astros
