WSI News - Totally Biased Game Recaps

Rock Bottom, Hopefully

May 13, at Oakland

Daily Sox Crop Report:
Haven't solved Oakland
Oh yeah, this place still sucks

Short Take: Oakland busts out the whoop ass in 11-0 rout

Oakland. Mother****ing Oakland.

Scott Carroll was shelled for a second straight start and there was no offense to be found Tuesday night as the Sox put on one of their hopefully more forgettable efforts in an 11-0 pounding courtesy of the Aís.

It appears the clock may have struck midnight on the Cinderella run to the Majors for the 29-year-old rookie, as he was pounded for 6 runs on 11 hits in 5 innings. I donít even know what happened, I switched over to check the Hawks game, and the Aís tossed up a few extra runs. I go get a sandwich, more runs. All I know is Carroll looked pretty hittable, especially as the game wore on. For a guy who entered tonightís game with 5 strikeouts and 5 walks in 17 innings of work, itís looking very possible that the guy just doesnít have it.

Not that anyone else on the Sox roster looked like a Major League player today, save for maybe Jose Abreu, still hobbled with a bum ankle, but turned in probably the only noteworthy at bat of the night, battling Drew Pomeranz over several pitches before lining a single up the middle. I think Leury Garcia, starting in center field for the benched Alejandro De Aza, squared up a fastball for a solid line drive single. This is seriously the best I can do.

Anyways, no real need to worry over this one. We got beat in the Bay Area House of Horrors again. The impending return of Chris Sale and Adam Eaton, both of whom are hopefully just a successful rehab stint away, canít come soon enough.

The Sox will try and salvage the finale of this series tomorrow afternoon as Andre Reinzo gets the start against Tommy Milone. First pitch will be at 2:35 PM Chicago time and the game will be broadcast on Comcast Sports Net.
