WSI News - Totally Biased Game Recaps

Rocky Mountain Sigh

April 9 at Colorado

If ever there were an instance of "Rotten Tomatoes", this was it. The Sox bullpen - namely, Ronald Belisario - stunk. Adam Eaton and Jose Abreu continue to perform well, each chipping in two hits.

Daily Sox Crop Report:
Rotten tomatoes?
How'd the new crop of players help the Sox win or lose?

Short Take:   Bullpen gives up six in eighth

Totally Biased paragraph.

On a day when starting pitcher Erik Johnson wasn't terrible, the bullpen was in a 10-4 loss to Colorado at Coors Field in Denver. The Rockies - who did not start National League All-Star shortstop Troy Tulowitzki - broke open a tie game with six runs in the eighth. Once again, the Sox bullpen failed.

Utterly Petty paragraph.  The Sox bullpen was just awful. Scott Downs took the loss, but Ronald Belisario was terrible. In his one-third of an inning, Bell-Is-Sorry-Yo allowed five runs on five hits, raising his ERA on the season to 15.75. He was taken from the game after a visit from Sox skipper Robin Ventura and trainer Herm Schneider, possibly to check for spike marks after the ass-kicking he absorbed from Colorado.

Completely Unobjective paragraph.

The Sox lost the series finale, dropping two of three to the Rockies. Making matters worse is that the Sox may have lost rightfielder Avisail Garcia, who was injured when diving for a fly ball in the sixth inning. Garcia appeared to have finally been coming around offensively. It was reported on the radio he jammed his left shoulder. The Sox need him back ASAP.

The Futures Market:
Are you buying or selling Sox futures? Why? I would like to sell Belisario to the Atlantic League team of his choice. I'm still buying Adam Eaton and Jose Abreu, both of whom had two hits apiece. I might even buy Tyler Flowers, who had another hit and drove in a run.

Adam Eaton

Two hits, drove in a run, scored a run. The Sox have an honest-to-goodness leadoff man.
