No Troncoso Means No Losing

August 16 at Minnesota

Today's Game Rating:
3 Stars
Dunn and Keppinger provided fire power for the Sox.

Short Take:   Ramon Troncoso did not pitch, so the Sox were able to win.

Adam Dunn continued his hot hitting with a homer, while Jeff Keppinger added a solo shot of his own to push the Sox to a 5-2 victory of the crappy Twins. The only problem is we're crappier than the Twins. We were 3-10 against the garbage Twins going into Friday night. However, it was nice to pull off the win.

Jose Quintana pitched for the Sox and did well. He only allowed two earned over 6.2 innings to get the win.

After a Joe Mauer solo homer in the first, the Sox went ahead in the top of the second. Dayan Viciedo hit a two-run single to score Dunn and Garcia to put us up 2-1.

Keppinger and Dunn provided more spark in the third with solo home runs off of crappy Twins starter Kevin Correia.

The Twins cut the lead to 4-2, but the Sox added an insurance run when Trevor Plouffe (Plouffe there it is!) made a throwing error off the bat of Paul Konerko. The error scored Jeff Keppinger, who had earlier singled.

Donnie Veal and Nate Jones provided the holds while Addison Reed came in and got his 29th save. And no Ramon Troncoso in the box score is just fine with me.

The Sox play again at Target Field on Saturday, August 17th at 7:10 p.m. Chris Sale will face Andrew Albers.
