WSI News - Totally Biased Game Recaps

Ford Pinto

August 28 at Baltimore

Today's Sox Crew:
On Strike!
The Sox as a team looked like they were hitting the picket line.

Short Take:   Lew Ford homers again, we get shutout, let's forget this one.

The old Ford Pinto in the 70's was said to be in danger of exploding if rear-ended in an accident. I think it's safe to say that old Twins nemesis, Lew Ford, has helped to rear-end the White Sox the last two nights. Ford has a grand total of two homers on the year, both against the Sox this series. Makes you want to dry heave. Unlike last night, when the Sox were actually in the game, tonight they had no chance. Chris Sale had a rare bad start while Baltimore starter Chris Tillman was in control as Baltimore shut out the Sox 6-0. After winning six in a row at home, the Sox have now lost five straight on the road.

Walks did the Sox pitching in once again. In the bottom of the second, Sale allowed a single to Nate McLouth, but he then walked Manny Machado and Robert Andino to load the bases. Nick Markakis made Sale pay with a bases clearing double to deep center to put the Orioles up 3-0. That would be all Baltimore would need.

Sale wouldn't go far in this game. He went four innings giving up four runs on six hits, three walks and five strikeouts.

On the other side, Orioles starter Chris Tillman only gave up one hit in seven innings. The Sox offense only had two freakin' hits the whole game.

Homers by Lew Ford and Adam Jones put Baltimore up 6-0 before the game was mercifully allowed to come to an end.

Tomorrow's another day, so we'll see what happens. Tomorrow, Wednesday, August 29th, the Sox will play the third of this four game series. Dylan Axelrod has been called up and will start tomorrow with Gavin Floyd being sent to the DL with elbow inflammation. Miguel Gonzalez will start for Baltimore. The game starts at 6:05 p.m. and can be seen on WGN.

KW Appreciates The Game:
"We're just playing with Detroit's emotions. We have them right where we want them."
