Rain-Shortened Recap For a Rain-Shortened Game

August 2 vs. Yankees

Levels Finished:
The Sox couldn't dodge anything against Phil Hughes

Short Take:   Rain forces Sox and Yankees to play six and a half

After a 45-minute rain delay that didn't involve any rain, the White Sox took on the New York Yankees for their second of four games. They managed to play six and a half innings before the rain really started to come down and the game was called after the top of the seventh. The Yankees beat the Sox 6-0.

The pitching staff had a rough night. Starter John Danks pitched six innings, giving up four runs on nine hits and a walk. Two of those hits were home runs: a solo shot from Russell Martin in the second and a two-run shot from Mark Teixeira in the third. Jason Frasor came on for the seventh and pitched 0.2 innings, giving up two runs on two hits and two walks, including a solo homer from Teixeira. Brian Bruney pitched 0.1 innings without giving up a hit or a walk.

The Sox literally had no offense. They mustered three hits. Three. All were singles from Juan Pierre, Adam Dunn, and AJ Pierzynski. There's nothing else to even be said about the offense. Or lack thereof.

Hopefully the Sox can turn their luck around. Gavin Floyd faces AJ Burnett tomorrow night. Floyd is looking for his tenth win while Burnett is looking for his ninth.

Ozzio's Game Rant:
Well, @&%!*$& rain and this &^@!*$# offense just...@&%*.
