White Sox stracil do dzis Tigers

July 26 vs. Tigers

Levels Finished:
Sox launched two fireballs of their own, but ultimately could not dodge Verlander's barrels

Short Take: Two homers cannot overcome Tigers

Without the proper lettering, that means "The White Sox lost to the Tigers tonight" in Polish. Or so my dad says.

On Polish Night at US Cellular Field, which I would have KILLED to go to being Polish, the White Sox took on the Tigers, hoping to gain more ground in the AL Central. Jake Peavy pitched decently, but ultimately Justin Verlander showed again that he was an ace, and the Sox lost 5-4.

Peavy lasted six innings, giving up four runs on ten hits. He got into trouble in the sixth inning. The Sox were leading 2-1, but Peavy gave up four single in a row, and after Jhonny Peralta's sac fly for the first out, the Sox were down 4-2. Will Ohman came on in the seventh and gave up what would ultimately be the winning run. Jesse Crain, Matt Thornton, and Brian Bruney all came on in relief. Thornton was the only one to allow a baserunner in those two innings.

White Sox hitting was decent as well. In the bottom of the first, Adam Dunn...ADAM DUNN!!!...hit a two-run home run to give the Sox a 2-0 lead. It was Dunn's only hit of the night, as he struck out in his other three at-bats. Paul Konerko tied the game at four in the sixth with a two-run homer. The only players without hits were Carlos Quentin, AJ Pierzynski, and Mark Teahen. Konerko was the only player with more than one hit.

The Sox finish the series tomorrow afternoon. John Danks faces Max Scherzer at 1:10 tomorrow afternoon.

Ozzio's Game Rant:
This effing team. Kenny, what is going on in the minors?
